General / Riding in Poland
« on: 26 July 2012, 10:01:31 pm »
Has anyone got any personal experience of riding in Poland?   Looking at riding through Germany into Poland for a look at Auschwitz and the mining area of Silesia   Looked on the internet but can't find anything recent and the ones that i can find don't really sell the place.  Ruts in the roads as long as the M6,  lorries driving at night with no lights on, pissed up drivers, the list  goes on  (sounds just like the UK s'pose) !! Was really looking froward to this but not too sure now.......  :\

FZS600 Fazer / Clutch Slip
« on: 14 May 2012, 09:58:14 pm »
I have noticed my clutch slipping slightly at around 10000 revs when pinning it's ears back, if i roll off the throttle slightly and then nail it again it stops slipping! Just had the clutch out to check and measure the friction plates and these are in spec, no warp or burning on the plates and the springs are well in spec too.

Oil is the same as i have always used. The only thing that i have noticed is that the clutch lever appears to have more slack after a few hours of hard ridng.

Anyone any ideas?

Events, Meets, Ride outs etc / Scotland Road Trip May 2012
« on: 12 May 2012, 08:03:45 pm »
Managed to find a break in the weather last weekend for our five day trip to Scotland. we hit the M6 in Lancashire up to Gretna, then the A76 over to Castle Leven, a ferry hop to Dunoon and we were soon in Invarary. After a nice pot of tea we continued on to Fort  William to pick up food, fire lighters and a wee dram.

Our bed for the night was a sheltered spot on a beach in Morar (fecking feezing it was! :'( )

Day two and we got the ferry from Mallaig over to Skye. First stop was Portree for some breakfast before heading off for the first point of interest of the day, 'the old man of Storr'.  Breathtaking vistas!!

Next up was a ride to the Quiraing- again the views were simply stunning.

A ride back down to Sconser later that day where we picked up the ferry to Raasay were we stayed with friends for the next two days before the killer eight hour ride home on the Tuesday :'(

All in all a fanatastic long weekend in the highlands, we were blessed with the weather and the Scottish roads were as always a joy to ride!

FZS600 Fazer / Shite on ebay
« on: 16 March 2012, 08:24:55 pm »
Are people prepared to buy anything these days?? I couldn't for shame put items up for auction in the condition that these sellers seem to think is ok!!

Example one.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-FZS-FAZER-600-2000-PARTS-REAR-WHEEL-RIM-/280672351603?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item4159603573

two.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-FZS600-FAZER-ENGINE-GOOD-RUNNER-FZS-600-/400241331700?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item5d303e0df4

Surely if the seller took 30 mins to give them a scrub someone just might buy them........ Personally in that state i wouldn't touch them with a barge pole!!!

General / Winter gloves
« on: 31 October 2011, 10:20:22 pm »
Can anyone recommend a decent pair of leather, waterproof, breathable and insulated gloves? I know you get what you pay for but where does the price band stop were a glove stops being utterly shite an the quality becomes good?

I recently paid £40 for a pair that supposedly do all the above. After a 200 mile jaunt into Wales yesterday the inside of the glove felt damp which left my hands on the chilly side, and considering that there was no rain yesterday i can only put it down to the gloves not breathing.

It just makes my piss boil when the manufacturer puts tags and labels on their products stating how good the item is which basically translates to pure bullshit!!!

General / Tyre sealant's
« on: 12 October 2011, 07:33:38 pm »
Does anyone use these type of products in their tyres? Iv'e read the 'FAQ's' on the OKO website and the potential for wheel imbalance puts me off, but i love the idea of it fixing a puncture before you know you've got one. It works a treat on the trials bike but obviously wheel balance isn't an issue.
