Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Any member tested aftermarket brake&clutch levers?
« on: 13 September 2012, 04:22:52 pm »
Hi everybody
Back in Spain from a trip through southern France. My Gen1 behaved perfectly and Im even more happy with it (if that´s possible). The trip went smooth and incidentless but for my girl dropping the bike while parked (the bike was a little over leaned, and with all the luggage it didnt need much movement to fall). No damages thank to bumpers and saddle bags but a clutch lever broken tip.
So, considering that she is feeling guilty  :evil  I might be able to make her pay for an upgrade: any suggestions? To be honest, I was already thinking about changing them cos my hands are smalish and cant really ride with "two fingers" on the brake as I am used to

Cheers!

Hi everybodyNext month I will be doing a 26 days touring-trip around southern France and the Pyrenees with my girl. My Gen1 FZS 1000 is gonna be loaded almost to the limit. Wont have too much time to try suspension settings cos Im working long hours, and this would be my first trip with it as I got it a couple months ago (after 9 years with a FZS 600) so I dont know it that much (though I bought it 350 miles away from home and rode it back...).
I want to work a little with the front end cos I know all the weight in the back is gonna make it feel "light". Any advices as to where to start from? Ive been reading about "dropping the forks" and stuff; do you think this would help? Is this doable for a regular person (if so, any advice would be very much appreciated) or should it be done by a mechanic? Everything is standard.

Thanxs!!!

Introduction / Saludos to everybody!
« on: 02 July 2012, 08:21:47 pm »
Would like to introduce myself: Im a 40 years old Uruguayan living and riding in Spain for a decade already. Got my first bike, a Yamaha SR 500, when I was 21 and from there it´s been a love affair: different girls (5) but all from the same family!
Right now I own a 95.000 miles ´02 FZS 600 and a 9000 miles ´04 FSZ 1000 that came to my arms a couple months ago. Im absolutely awed by it but also kinda sad about letting the 600 go (I dont think I will ever have a more fun, reliable bike).
I would like to hang around here and benefit from your wisdom  ;) .

Can I take advantage of my intro and ask something? Any reliable and forum-member´s tested brake&clutch levers to fit on the FSZ 1000 you can recommend?

Cheers!
