General / Headlight switch - Yamaha FZS1000 Fazer Gen1 2002
« on: 23 May 2018, 10:18:15 am »
Hi Everyone,

Just looking for some advice.

My bike failed the MOT as I have a loose headlight flick switch from right hand handlebar switch and I can't see to locate a replacement. Anyone got any tips how to fix it?

I need it checked on Saturday and passed as public transport is killing my patience and wallet at the moment - a solution to ease my sanity would be much appreciated.  :'(

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Wheel refurbishment
« on: 15 March 2018, 01:17:46 pm »
Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone knew of a shop that does motorcycle wheel refurbishment? I have a replacement wheel that needs stripping, repainting so I can swap it for my current wheel (which is slightly buckled)

I live in South West London/Surrey

General / Brake Discs and pads replacements
« on: 12 August 2017, 09:51:49 pm »
Hi all,

Just looking for some advice and views on brake discs and pads. I just had my front tyre changed and got told that there is a lip starting to form on rim of the disc so its time for a replacement set. Has anyone got any suggestions? I know that the existing set are Yamaha stock but EBCs look good, I've seen some Armstrongs and Galfers too.

As one mechanic told me once "You can save money everywhere else on a bike but never scrimp on tyres and brakes as one day they will save your life!"

Hi everyone,

Can anyone help? I've owned my Fazer 1000 for around 4 years. I tend to run it at low revs in high gears. I've only known the radiator fan to kick on once or twice and that's even after the temp light has come on. Recently the seal failed on the water pump and I had it replaced but the fan did not come on when they tested the cooling system. Can anyone give me some idea of a systematic check I can do in order to eliminate possible reasons for this? I know that the fan has not got any debris in it as the fan spins freely. it could be a relay problem or a thermo problem but I have no idea how to check this as I have no experience with the electrics.

Can anyone help me?
