General / Living on a boat
« on: 02 April 2014, 07:29:26 am »
So, I've decided that this year I'm going to move on to a boat, I have several friends, including families that do this quite comfortably.
Anybody had any experiences, what are your thoughts?
It is in part financial why I'm doing this, it can be more expensive than people think to live on a boat, but it's a dam sight cheaper than continuing to rent something I'll never own in this area!

FZS600 Fazer / Nitron
« on: 05 February 2014, 02:20:58 pm »
Bit the bullet and just ordered the Nitron sport shock,
I fully intend on doing more track days this year, and the modded thou shock I fitted needs servicing!
£100 to do and in my mind it's still a substandard shock so it won't be fit for my purpose!
I've read up on the R6 shock mod and right or wrong I just don't like the idea of it being the wrong length!
Plus that's still about £250 after changing the spring, and dog bones!

No, The Nitron option isn't cheap at just under £400, but it's new, shiny, guaranteed and of course British!

Had a short conversation with the fella regards upgrading fork internals and it's something they're working on this year, my T'cat forks are cartridge internals which although better than standard fazer forks still aren't amazing, so hopefully that could be upgraded in the future!

FZS600 Fazer / Crash bars
« on: 26 January 2014, 05:37:33 pm »
Right, who's got what and what do you see as the negative points of them?
I've got crash bungs atm but know from several previous experiences these are only good for dropping the bike at a standstill (which I've also done several times!)
I've narrowed my choice down to either Heed or Renntec, the full engine crash bars, not the smaller ones!

General / Heated jacket
« on: 07 January 2014, 07:40:09 pm »
So I bought a Keiss heated waistcoat a couple of years ago, and after buying the heated gloves last month decided to upgrade to the new jacket with heated sleeves and neck (which also has built in connections for the gloves)
Well, for everything to fit comfortably I removed the thermal lining from the jacket.
It came with an adjustable heat controller and I have to say- it's too bloody warm, and I've not even plugged it in and turned it on yet!!!

General / Gig in London tonight
« on: 09 November 2013, 10:41:37 am »
If anyone's at a loose end Hayseed Dixie are playing at the garage in highbury tonight, unaware of ticket availability as I have mine already.
They mainly do covers as well as some erm, unique original songs,
Tonight they're going back to grass roots and the gig is for their first album of AC/DC covers (get the name)
Oh, and it's all accoustic (apart from amplification) mandolins, guitars,  violins, banjos...
I've seen them about 6 times already and they're awesome!

Look me up on youtube if you not heard of them, and let me know if you're coming, we'll meet you there.

Oh, before we go we're going to hit the pipeline bar in Middlesex street E1 for many many games of pinball on the 7 tables they got there!
