FZS600 Fazer / rear end too light or just me?
« on: 16 April 2015, 03:21:32 pm »
im about 11 stone, took the bike out for some fast paced roundabouts and straights near redline in 3rd for most of it with some mates, problem i found which almost put me into the lane divide was when i downshift or rear break a bit hard my back locks up and skips along the floor.

any ideas?

my rear shock appears to be on its hardest setting but its not solid.

FZS600 Fazer / slight oil leak
« on: 12 April 2015, 04:05:31 pm »
was under my fazer today having a lube up of the chain and centre stand when i felt burning oil drip onto my hand, its only a small drip every minute or so and appears to be coming from the sprocket cover.

so clutch rod or gear selector shaft...

whats it more likely to be?
i was thinking maybe clutch shaft has dirt in it or something?

FZS600 Fazer / i done goofed... SOLVED!!
« on: 17 March 2015, 11:49:36 am »
Wanting a bit more noise i decided i would take the middle pipe out of my standard exhaust... the one that you can see at the end...

so all is going well, drilled holes through it and stuck a stiff bar through pulling it up and moving it about untill eventually the weld broke and it was free!!!

free to move about an inch due to being flanged! DOH

now ive had to drill into the outer tip of the exhaust to bolt the inner pipe to it for now...

tip for people: don't try and take it out it is flanged!

not my picture but i couldn't find it untill after id done it.

FZS600 Fazer / clutch problem...
« on: 10 March 2015, 05:52:04 pm »
ok so i had a problem with my clutch last week where it suddenly went slack...

replace clutch cable and it was fine untill today when i went out it suddenly went slack again.

adjusted on the handlebars to its near max adjustment, when i looked at where the cable goes into the sprocket cover it appears there is a fair bit of play in the cable it moves up and down freely even near max adjustment.

cable is correct one.

FZS600 Fazer / need: lend me a rack?
« on: 09 March 2015, 01:44:00 pm »
so i sent my rack off to a member here so he can get all the measurements and such from it...

and now hermes have decided to lose track of it....

i had this before with an exhaust and it took over a month to get the value refunded.

i need a rack for my topbox for work and general running around so i dont suppose anyone has one they arent using that they could lend me untill i get mine back if they find it or i get a replacement from hermes.

will be returned in the same condition

FZS600 Fazer / topbox tail light
« on: 06 March 2015, 02:38:12 pm »

so topbox has a red plastic bit on the back similar to the tail light.

bought a 30cm led strip light, wire into the bottom of topbox to the back and wire in the lid round the edge to the back of topbox with a little contact switch so i can open the lid and it goes off so no wiring being pulled.

video all fitted using a custom made rack from  http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php?action=profile;u=1249

wired up and done.

and on

FZS600 Fazer / new engine, changing mileage?
« on: 02 March 2015, 07:32:38 pm »
not really a problem but i changed my engine a few months back and the clocks are reading at 48,000 but the engine only has 21,000 on it, is it possible to reset the clocks to get them back to 21,000?

had a speedo problem on an old bike where the speedo stopped working for about 2,000 miles so had a drill on the cable to get it up to the correct mileage.

as i say its not a massive problem i just have to note down the mileage its gained since the change and add it to the total on the engine.

General / any law or solicitor types here?
« on: 22 February 2015, 06:46:59 pm »
bike was damaged by drunks using my property to enter the pub next door, pub landlord refused to make the wall higher so they cant climb it.

they shut their doors at 1am, drunks enter my garden use my bike as a climbing frame sit all over it and have put cigarettes out on it...
glasses get thrown over the wall into my property causing more damage.

would this not make the pub liable?
would i be able to claim the repair costs off them with no actual evidence of who did it, i have evidence the drunks are on my property and destroying everything in sight.

« on: 15 February 2015, 08:43:17 pm »
went to check my tps, it was at 10,000rpm went to move it and couldn't... i then realised a previous owner has noticed the choke spring doesnt work/been changed with an inferior one and added another spring on and attached to tps...

ive always wondered why my choke was full on or full off and always so stiff.

where can i get the correct choke spring from?

FZS600 Fazer / solved my fazers terrible lighting...
« on: 06 January 2015, 05:57:37 pm »
after tons of messing about and different lighting (except hid) ive finally found lighting which works, 20w ebay led light, came in a single unit so i will have to order another for the left side but they're pretty amazing!

Mounted to my indicator which is plenty strong enough and wired to my main beam so only comes on whilst on main.

safety nazis: it will only be used on full beam which is when cars are not coming towards me. which is safer than me seeing nothing and crashing into a school.

If you can find similar with more wattage then id go for it!

arrow showing the light unit mounted.

UPDATE:

2nd one turned up...

mounted. looks mean!

UPDATE:
Pics on the road.

1st pic is low beam with an osram nightbreaker and the cup removed.
2nd pic is full beam with 2 spotlights iluminated,
pis dont really do it justice.
