Take it off Nath

Have a look where the free play is. I think it's probably a rivet there so put it on the vice and hammer the rivet tighter.  or drill it out and put a nut and bolt in.

The mirrors should fold in without going loose!

On FJ1200 the play should be OK up to 5-6 mm.  There are about 4 sets of bearings and will all have a bit of play.  As long as it's not excessive it won't fail mot.  Yours sounds normal.

Can you not wrap an exhaust bandage around it just to see if it make it quiet.  If it does look for an exhaust.

I usually park mine at the front of my garage and connect it to the Optimate charger.  I try to start it for 10 mins once a month.   Don't worry about adjusting the chain until you want to ride it again.     I just tighten back Axle untill it's tight then give it another nudge.

If back Axle nut does come off the axle should at least stay put because of the bolts in the swing arm that tighten it on.

I bought a Honda NC750X  t'other week.  So wanted to swop insurance over.

The Fazer cost £78 for 12 months.                  They wanted another £240 to continue policy for the next 9 months.

I had a look round Meerkats thingy.  and bought 12 months for £120.  Great!

Now to find out how much I would get back for the 9mths left on the Fazer.

To cancel the old policy they wanted;-  £50  cancelation fee, +  £25 document feer, + % of discount they had given me when the policy was started.  Result I owe the £6 odd..

At least when I ask them to consult the manager about waving the £6 they did and it was waved....>>>><<<<

I think a full bench is better with both wheels on the bench.  You can jack it up as you would on the floor, both ends if you want. and it's more stable.

I have a scissor lift that is sunk into my garage floor.  It's a lot better working when seated.

I just use a pair of pliers on each terminal and pull it out.

« on: 21 August 2014, 11:39:35 am »
Where exactly do you fit that little gadget out of curiosity?

Take clutch cable off the hand clutch lever and fit it to the "Easy Clutch".  The cable coming out of the "Easy Clutch fits into the Hand lever....

Gearing inside the "Easy Clutch"  makes the effort to pull the clutch less.   Just like a pulley!!

Cheap at 1/2 the price.
