Hey Cellarman, would you be interested in a swap for a pair of Givi E41 Keyless panniers? Got two sets here, one set with black lids and one with silver.

Am I restricted to the V35 side cases? Got a set of E41 keyless side cases and a Maxia 52l top boxes, can I fit these?

Cheers guys.

Have you tried the Yam dealer? New bars for my son's FZ6 were only £23. Even the dealer was suprised at the price. That was probably 4 or 5 yrs ago now but it's worth a phone call.

Noggy, we'll get out sometime this summer mate. Always ride-outs being arranged at this end.

If you're on Facebook join the 'South Wales Bikes group'.

Cheers guys, she's gonna love it. Such an easy bike to ride and plenty of grunt. It's not as pokey in 1st and 2nd as I thought it'd be but i've sinced heard they're restricted in the first two??

I was really impressed with the way it behaved over some very bumpy roads and I think she'll love the handling and road manners. (not that she has any herself)  :D

No need to look at improvements in power or suspension at the moment as it's far more capable than her 02 Fazer 6, and she goes really well on that :)

So my daughter is now the proud owner of an FZ1. Luckily i'm insured fully comp as a named rider (as opposed to 3rd party only) which means I may have to take the bike out once in a while Collected it from Greenock in Scotland and rode it the 430 miles home to Cardiff. The vid is part of the first 130 miles when I was just starting to gel with the bike and was the first opportunity to open the taps a little. Not too keen on the tyres tbh, they're Pirelli Angels with correct pressures but I had a few spin ups exiting corners and wasn't really that aggressive with the throttle either. Bridgestone T30's coming soon

Have you checked the chain tension? Too loose it'll be noisy, too tight and it'll damage the output shaft bearings, which will then get noisy. Does the noise change with engine speed or road speed?

Quiet road, select neutral at 30ish, hit the kill switch and have a good listen. Even better if you can find somewhere to do this without your helmet on.

Deposit paid, flight paid.

Stubborn old git wouldn't budge from £3500 but like you say, no point losing the bike for the sake of £100

Picking it up a week today. To say my daughter is over the moon would be a huuuuge understatement  :lol

Oh, and I notice it's got silver adjusters on top of the gold forks, and it has a red rear spring instead of the usual silver. Hmm, odd that???

Thanks Noggy. The bloke is actually approaching his 71st birthday and is retiring from biking after two of his friends were killed a few weeks back. His wife is too worried to let him out on it.

Gonna make him an offer and hopefully will be flying up on the 27th to collect it.

And yes, it's the colour she wanted :)

What do you think I should offer for this?

And, can you put an R1 front end on an ABS equipped FZ1?

Cheers all.

If you're travelling to that neck of the woods watch out for the Pergyls, nasty little feckers they are, and they ride around on Arafs. Us lovely Welsh do put warning signs though to let you know they're about  :rollin

Never had a problem with a plugged tyre. I use them 'stop and go' mushroom plugs and have carried a passenger with luggage and toured at a reasonably rate of knots and they've never let me down.

I plugged the rear tyre on my daughter's Fazer but also put a patch over the head of the mushroom too to be sure to be sure.

Down to personal choice but if that tyre were mine, i'd use it no problem. If you can patch it too then all the better.

Thanks Grayo,

Had a look at that one and was wondering if there's any difference with the top fairing compared to that one? In other words if i remove them side fairings will it look the same as an other FZ1? I'm guessing there's a few brackets that'll need removing too.

Don't really like em with them fairings.

Cheers.

Cheers mate.

Funny enough i've just been talking about you on the phone to a mutual friend - Rusty :) I thought it was only Gen 1 but i'm sure he said it was for Gen 2. Dopey brummie :)

I may be in touch soon as we're actively shopping for a Gen 2. But she only wants a green one and they seem as rare as hens teeth!
