Hi all , checking and cleaning the bike today and noticed no3 downpipe on start up takes a lot longer to warm up than the others . Ive checked leads and spark and replaced plugs as a precaution . Still seems the same , has anyone come across this before ? Bike starts on the button and seems to run ok , if slightly down on power. :eek

might be carbaration?

If number 3 chimes in once the throttle's opened up, then it's probably a blocked slow jet.
There are other possibilities though: that carb could be flooding or starved of fuel- fairly easy to test for with a length of plastic tube attached to the drain to check the fuel level.
Of course, if it's not sparks or fuel that are amiss, the other thing is compression.

I had a similar problem with a fazer that had been stood for a while.
Check the pilot jets.
It's a fag of a job, but you don't need any special tools to do it.
But before you attempt the 'fag of a job' swap the plugs and spark plug caps round and see if the problem changes cylinder.

I've had that problem this whole season. When the bike is running, the pipes temperature was measured around 140 degrees celsious on all the pipes (+-1 gedree). It sound sweet, runs sweet. Maybe that is just NORMAL for fazers?
I stopped worrying about it. Carbs cleaned, leads checked, spark plugs changed - still the same. But no problems when riding.

Mine's been that way for the last 18 months, a bit hesitant to start some times, but under load it doesn't miss a beat. Cleaning the pilot jets has been on the cards for ages but I've just never got round to doing it. I must get some of darrsi's fave, the "STP fuel system cleaner"!

i've got this, found that no. 3 pilot screw is seized (not tired to fix it yet)

Cheers all , sounds like a common problem . Done my normal 70 mile commute last night and all seemed fine running . Checked again today and still taking twice as long to heat up on no3 downpipe . Spark is very good , leads trimmed back and in good condition . Drained carb 3 also and plenty of fuel in there. Have added some stp fuel cleaner as a long shot .
If that dont work ill take carbs out , recon , clean, plus need new carb to head rubbers anyway as outer rubbers are on last legs and cracking badly , no leaks as yet but winter will finish them off i reckon . :'( [size=78%] [/size]

I've just checked mine and 1 & 2 were 220C, 3 & 4 were 170C after a 50 mile ride home and idling for a couple of minutes while I found the temp sensor.
It's also running like a bag of shit now :\ Would be very interested to hear what you did if you get yours sorted.

It's got jet fuel in it.......i mean, everybody loves a bit of jet fuel :)
