:lurk Let's see how this pans out !

??????????????...Don't usually get involved in controversial subjects but as someone who works hard for my little luxuries in life I've gotta say Tex, if someone stole my bike and Luke was showing bits off it on here, I wouldn't be as laid back as you. I'd be asking Luke where he got them from...I make no apologies for this comment in advance. Real bikers don't steal bikes, they ride them.
-
I'm with dazza, I'd want answers from the seller to start with.
Tex, if that's true this is the address you need for the seller.

Ok dazza I don't like the comment before you know the facts so fook off
Tex if you think otherwise ring me 07736008778
To my knowledge bike was stolen recovered and sold via a breaker
Because of dazza's comment I have contacted police and given them what I know

Then my work here is done 8)
-
If this turns out to be stolen goods then you will lose them.....I take it Tex got his insurance and the breaker will have a record of who he got the bike from and also who he sold them too. I'd be surprised if the insurance company/police didn't contact Tex to say the bike had been recovered...smells a bit this one....but it could all be legit
-
My own Opinion !
I think this should be done vai PM until its resolved if this is stolen goods then posting about them on an open forum could hinder any police investigation
if this was a stolen recovered bike then some one is being tar with a stolen goods lable unfairly !
I think this should be removed until such time as its resolved
it would be great if we could have feed back as to the outcome once sorted tho !
-
this is unfair on devilsyam........bike recovered, insurance paid out, bought by breaker, parts bought by devilsyam......all legit.....why are people thinking otherwise :eek

I don't know Devilsyam but from what I have read on here (help advice positive comments from forum menbers etc) he seems a top bloke, I don't think he has done (or would) do anything wrong or illegal .
Mark :)

Ok, first, im not pointing any fingers at anyone on here, we all like a ebay bargain, but do we really know where the goods came from? the bike was stolen in june, and has not been recovered,i far as i know, i was paid out by insurance last month, Luke you did not know the stuff was stolen, so no blame on you. ebay is a minefield . Ill leave it like that before it turns into a slagging match.
-
It seems to me, that anyone who reads into the op, any sense of wrongdoing, needs to have a word with themselves.
If luke had knowingly bought stolen goods, he'd have to be pretty fucking stupid to come on here and advertise the fact. Now I've never met the bloke, I know he's a fine engineer, but of course that doesn't exclude stupidity. So just to clear that aspect up - luke, are you "pretty fucking stupid"? Nah, didn't think so.
If he suspected they might be stolen, then he might come and ask, in case there might be a chance of a conviction if it could be proved what bike they were from - but as soon as that's the case, it's a matter for the police, and somebody posting a sellers address on here, is bang out of order. He might have also bought in good faith, he might have bought from the insurance company, if tex had already been paid off for the theft.
Shed loads of irresponsible posting on this thread!
-
Cross posting - I see tex had been paid out - so a matter for the police as it's not recovered... Like I said, have a word with yourselves...
-
Mods why not close/delete this thread.just causing a load of grief

and somebody posting a sellers address on here, is bang out of order.
Shed loads of irresponsible posting on this thread!
I posted his address and i stand by it because the address is open for all to see, and if anything i was trying to show that Luke was being genuine that he brought the items in good faith from a breaker in London and i put a link to the listing so that there was no bad feedback against Luke.
But Before you posted I'm bang out of order did have you take the time to look at the sellers listings ! Probably not but If you had than you would also see the sellers address is free for all to see after all he is a TRADER so where is the wrong doing, Because I'm puzzled,
FFS armchair detectives.
-
Because the clear inference from the thread, is the suggestion that the seller is the thief, when there's a good chance he might not be.
-
Thief, fencer, buyer, get all three in a chain and thats why we loose our bikes, cars and other treasured belongings. E bay is terrible really, we may all have bought something inadvertantly that is stolen.
No answer to it really.
-
I have had dealings with devilsyam in the past and I hope from my post no one thought for one minute I was reffereing to him !
I have and do trust him never met him but spoken on the phone regarding purchases and scott oilers
the bloke on ebay I was refereing to if he is dealing in stolen goods this thread could be a red flag to him and hell shut up shop and be gone and so any chance of a prosscution !
if he is an innocent caught up in the cross fire its unfair to him !
as for "No answer to it really." there is !!!!
dont let them breed !!! :eek
-
Exactly, snapper, exactly...
-
for the record i have spoken to tex and were good, please no more requests to buy the gauges
those who cast doubt to my credibility are far out weighed by those who offer support and you are shamed
tex and i concider the matter closed
i have asked for the post to be removed also as no longer serves purpose but admin seem bit asleep today

Eek! :eek
Scary stuff really, especially when another Foccer's stolen parts come back to someone.
Tex - forgive me for being nosey, but will you be pursuing the seller, or just letting it slide?
I can confirm that Devilsyam is an OK chap - just don't let him near a 600 with a box of matches.... ;) :lol :lol :lol

I don't think anyone has questioned your credibility on here, only where the parts originated from after being highlighted by Tex. There is no doubt you are a sound and very honest man by the nature of your integrity in your posts. You are one of the Guru's on here and many hang on to your words of wisdom and call on your experience.
-
The thing that really matters is that the police have been informed.

lets just hope there actually do something !

This is spot on bigbluebear, no one has questioned Luke's credibility. There was an obvious question that needed to be asked which was answered almost straight away by tex and cable tie and Luke himself. The fact that he seemed to react badly to my comment made the thread take a darker tone than it needed to.

If I read this right, Tex has been paid out by the insurance for his nicked bike, if said bike has been recovered after this payout the insurance would not need to inform him of its recovery as the bike is now their property, they may have then sold the bike onto a 3rd party who has broken the bike and has sold the parts that Devilsyam has bought in good faith.
Just my take on it anyway.

YEP.......thats what i said :thumbup ....happens all the time :)

"if said bike has been recovered after his payout the insurance would not need to inform him of its recovery "
yep completly agree with that statement ,,,,,but I would query if the police should have informed tex as the insurance company are unlikely to tell them that the bike is now there property ???
