Title: Attention film buffs
Post by: ridgemere on 10 September 2013, 10:11:39 pm
One of my many pleasures away from biking is watching a good film. Last night I watched a film called Flight, I knew nothing about film other than it starred Denzil Washington. You can't beat a Denzil film and was not disappointed.
Enjoyed it from start to finish, especially the start!(Bet Denzil did too)

So I have a question to all you film buffs/needs in foccerland.....

Has Denzil Washington ever made a crap film?         :lurk

watched flight in the cinemas. I went into it not expecting much, but i thought it was a cracking film!

Another little known fact is that Denzel washington is one of the few actors in hollywood never to have been in a sequel.

cant think of a properly bad movie offhand. he did one with whitney heuston where he was an angel, that was quite ropey :lol

Virtuosity was shite iirc.

Training Day more than made up for it though, that was fantastic.

Never mind that, I watched a brilliant film the other day called Snakes On A Plane, and I was wondering if there has ever been a bad film made that featured some escaped snakes, set on an aeroplane?

I thought "Inside Man" was good too - I always think that the measure of good acting is how often you can watch the same film over again, despite knowing all the plot. Some movies are generally crap but are saved by a convincing bit of acting. There's a memorable scene in "True Romance" where Dennis Hopper meets Christopher Walken - short scene, but very intense; 2 top actors making the most of it, very watchable.

I enjoyed Flight, but wondered if inverting that type of plane was possible at that altitude/speed??

Plane buffs please keep it simple as I'll read the answers on my night shift and I have to stay awake

Apologies, but to assist those that want to watch movies, but not  pay, and wildly veering off topic.   I watched the Flight film on a free streaming site.  I enjoyed it as I can relate to the booze.  Just mentioning the pirate link as I got hooked on Dexter and Breaking Bad, and The Killing, and The Bridge, and Sons of Anarchy,  and can see them 20mins after they air in the US!

If you don't have cable or sky, or just want to watch the latest films (some are ropey - camshots, but good enough to watch,  others are limited copies for cimema owners etc) then have a look at

www.iwannawatch.ch (http://www.iwannawatch.ch)

www.primewire.ag (http://www.primewire.ag)

for films and sports stuff (ufc in particular)

and for series stuff

www.cokeandpopcorn.ch (http://www.cokeandpopcorn.ch)  (when the main screen shows,  click the "TV Shows" button  at the top of the screen.  It's main page shows just crap links (to get around the fact that they're leading you to stuff that they shouldn't!)

Always use Chrome with Adblock or Adblock Plus extensions installed.   Always.  Otherwise you'll get the iLivid downloader, which although relatively harmless,  is a browser redirect that you will need to remove.  So make sure you enable those extensions.

 :hijack :hijack

I'm sure Denzel made some crap films,  but he certainly ranks as one of my favourite actors.  My favourite was the movie where he was battling the demon,  and smoked the cyanide laced cig at the end!  Can't remember the name, but that is a fav, as is the one where he plays the paralysed cop.   Top guy,  we can forgive him a few crapsters.    I'd love to see him playing a Shakespearein character.   I think he'd be great as King Lear!

Not seen the film, so can't comment on the scenario.

HOWEVER.

The Boeing 707 was on a display flight for potential buyers (as the Dash 80 in the day) when the test pilot, Tex Johnson decided to wow the airline executives by barrel rolling. The manoeuvre was safe, he became a legend a Boeing because of it, and also got what the Yanks call an ass chewing for his stunt with the prototype!!
