My fazer has started to jerk at 3k revs and stutter, it sounds very much to me like the pistons aren't firing quite in order, so I'm suspecting the carbs need balancing.
Never done it before, and I don't have a set of gauges to balance them, and to top it off I was made redundant not too long ago so money is a serious issue right now. Don't suppose anyone in or around the Manchester area has a set I could use??

After doing a little reading is it possible that it could be the spark plug caps? Any way to easily diagnose that? And are these the bad boys I'll need?

Good idea I might get some of those too.
The bike has started idling really unevenly since I balanced my carbs!
I suspect the caps/leads or the plugs.
I'd lend you my carbtune but I'm in Nottingham.

Carb balance is definitely a good start, take your time and persevere until they go virtually level.
Make sure bike is at a good temp, and check TPS is at 5K before tinkering.

Thanks Paul for the offer, and thanks all for the help! Fortunately seems as I only bought it fairly recently the dealer I've bought it off has agreed to have a look under warranty! So hopefully he'll get it sorted pro bono.. Sometimes going through a dealer pays for itself :D
