Weather looks good for Sunday !!!! :)

Everyones out to get us!!!!!...or. Maybe thats the tramadol kicking in! He he!
-
Yes :) its not a bad run and there is a good cafe at the begining of that intersection , mind there are alot of good roads around that area .
-
Yes Fizzy, i rode with some lads last year and their favourite route was Llandovery up to Newtown,, i ride half of it to Crossgates cafe, thats the turn point for us back home,
I have a mate coming over on Sunday from Coventry, i promised him we would make the seaside,Aberwystwth,so we will propably go up from Llandovery then turn for Rhayader and also turn down through Devils Bridge back road to Aber, then back on the A44 towards leominster, it will be a fair ride for him.
-
Come on Billy, get up you lazy sod! Forecast still good, headed off soon. :)
-
Yes , i am busy here, cutting up dog food , got to take them out now,,see you in a bit
-
Where's the pics then???...........of the breakfasts nom nom! :b
-
Well that was one of the best day's riding I've ever had. Thanks to Bill and friends for that. Foc me, some of that was fast! I learned to once again trust my bike and the tyres today - friggin hell, I had to! Bill's mate (gsxr750) and me went haring off after an R1 and what appeared to be a stripped down blade - the R1 gave up after a while! The Blade guy was a foccin' fast rider, but I suspect he knew the roads - he didn't lose us tho', on his tail all the way :D . Very hard work, 100% concentration, and once again I'm totally knackered! 345 miles today, enjoyed every one! :) :)
Couldn't photo the breakfast Noggy, that went too fast too :lol
-
Sounds like a good show nick, glad you enjoyed it
Just as well i wasnt there in my little put put 600 trying to keep up with blades & r1's.i think youll find my riding a bit more leisurely :)
Im well jealous though!!!!
I had a sunday dinner out, then i walked the dog, then i cut the grass :\
-
Dinner out...walked the dog....cut the grass....has noggy got a focced knee? Nice one nog.
-
At the moment, the LoFos seem to get the best groups together for a ride out, on the most regular basis. So what of everyone else? Come on Welsh Foccers, join in the fun - don't let a bunch of south-easterners shame you like this! You've got a biking mecca over there, I for one can't resist it. We've got to get a good group run in Wales sometime soon. Noggy isn't the only one over there!
Noggy, I don't always ride like we did today - I wouldn't survive very long if I did! I'm always happy to let someone else set the pace. Bill's other mate (zzr1400) had an off day today and so wasn't on form - he got sympathy cos we all have those. Bill had a very good reason for hanging back a bit (I'll let him explain if he chooses to), I just happened to be in the sweet spot today.
-
Dinner out...walked the dog....cut the grass....has noggy got a focced knee? Nice one nog.
I struggle on!!!, my missus watches!, i hate being stuck in the house, does my tits in.

Noggy i'll join you with my 600 and we can bring up the rear, and clean up any mess :evil
-
Sounds like the beginnings of a proper group ride in Wales...? :)
If I make a mess, it probably won't be done by halves - you'd better bring a big broom!
-
Sounds like a good show nick, glad you enjoyed it

Nogster, if my restricted 600 can keep up with Exupballsack and Kosmic on LoFos, I'm sure yours can too! The 600s corner bloody well, and their top end isn't far off the Thous. And the Thous rarely (if ever) max out on a ride.
-
Another gauntlet down! :eek

Aye aye skip, sounds like a plan, the important job of bomber escort should never be underestimated! 8)

Morning all !!! , Well lads , we don't ride fast
Especially when your rear tyre is like this
(http://i470.photobucket.com/albums/rr61/slimwilly/Photo0418_zpsbe9ba05f.jpg) (http://s470.photobucket.com/user/slimwilly/media/Photo0418_zpsbe9ba05f.jpg.html)
No we just ride the bends at fun speed, as with Noggy, the speed today was a couple out front tagging onto a couple of fast bikes.I probably would of but i kept it down once i had seen my tyre givving up. It was spoiled on the way to and back from Italy, motorway miles, wore the middle down,on Saturday night i noticed it was cracking in the middle ,so i decided to go on the ride ,the rule was fast on the sidewalls and slow on the centre of the tyre..and all was well.
Although it was fast on the bends :lol . I had onboard a camera so i will see if i can get some movie on here.
Oh and Noggy,,that breakfast,,hell it went fast as Nick said,,couldnt get a picture
-
iam thinking of joining you welsh foccers, not far from nick, jct 4 m40,i`ll keep an eye on your posts and see if i can make the next one.......anyone else ?

I have the Moto GP next week, then the week after is my daughters wedding, so no biking for a while,, but then if the sun comes out late September ,,,,wahooooo! :)

Nice tyre piccy slimwilly........in the word of JClark....
POWERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
That tyre is proper focced!!! :eek
This sounds great with London foccers maybe even making a Royal visit, the more the merrier Red, the twisty roads from Rhayader to Aberyswyth really remind me of the nice scottish roads, big sweeping corners with good road surface.
Question to Slim - when we did Llandovery to Rhayader we took a small detour on a smaller road, it had great twisties, i think it's where the bloke on another group came off on the corner at the armco, can you let me know what road that is please?, when i get the bike built up im gonna go for a spin on that route on my tod to get back in the flow & check everything is working ok, including my bonce :)
Cheers
-
Yes , we did that yesterday,i was cautious on that armco bend, lol
The lads enjoyed that road lots, i filmed the whole ride yesterday, some from the front and some from the rear, the camera makes it all look a bit slow and calm,, which will be good if the hammm, law is watching,, have some editing to do, seem to have crossed a few white lines, lol, passing dead sheep of course.
-
What road is that then slim????
Look forward to seeing some video :thumbup
-
this is the road

Not another tyre thread?!! Yep, the steel one in the middle! :rollin Way to go Bill!
Can't wait to see the camera footage, I'm not surprised it makes things look slower - a warning to all who try to judge culpability on crash vids! It ain't the same as being there. (excuses, excuses!)

It's a tricky one this.i'd say my normal running speed is reasonably quick & eventually if i stick to this pace i become comfortable & smooth & gradually i can increase the speed in small increments & keep smooth...if i have to jump up to chase someone i soon come out of my comfort zone & it becomes less enjoyable, after a few corners ill usually recognise this & back off a little.
I did it in scotland following the old man when he upped the ante the sly old dog, so i backed off & would soon catch up anyway but i still kept the fun factor. It sounds like slim nick & co did exactly this & im up for that type of riding. With a large enough bunch of foccers we could still end up with a few different packs but all end up at the stops at roughly the same time plus stop too much bunching up. 8)

-
Nice one Bill, so those cameras do the trick then without costing the earth.
It was interesting to see just how much your swing arm was working on those roads.
Oh & the noise!!!!....i do recognise that noise mr Blue Flame, so do the residents of Aberystwyth! :evil
-
Now i have worked out the edit bit (i think) and the YouTube bit i can try a bit more.
-
Another from the Welsh roads

Aber to llangurig new (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKR86Npy9SQ#)
-
Gotta get myself in one o these there video thingys.
Not falling off though :rolleyes
I reckon i could get my finger in a glove now.
But the foccin bank holiday post means i have no bike bits.
Stand by for some bling when im back out!
-
Also i have got a new tyre ordered and will be fitted fiday afternoon, ready for the trip to Silverstone.
Happy now, i can rest,,haha, at least it made me steady on Sunday.
My biggest fear was being pulled by the police then getting points for a defective tyre, then them taking it off the road.
Got away with it though. :)
-
Not a definite decision, but if the weather's good next Sunday (13th Oct), might be up for another of these. As the days are getting shorter, this might be the last Wales one for me this year.
Any interest?
-
might be up for this.....need to earn some brownie points in the week and also keep an eye on the weather ;)
-
Count me in as well :) Now that I'm back in the west country (ooh arr!) I'm looking to get in to Wales and explore a bit more
