Title: '02 FZS600 foxeye for sale - HOW MUCH?
Post by: scottyboy2203 on 29 July 2013, 06:54:15 pm
Hi foccers, looking to sell my 2002 blue FZS600 foxeye model fazer. It's been sat in the garage all year and I'm moving house so need to clear some space. Not sure what she's worth but have a figure of £1100-1200 in my head (crazy?). Heres the details:
Good:
- Good tyres BT021s with plenty of life.
- Oil/filter/spark all done recently (<500 miles).
- New Yuasa battery as of today.
- Datatool Alarm (S3) and Datatag ID.
- FSH
- Monokey rack (no box).
- Crash bungs.
- Full stainless exhaust.
- Yamaha DB screen.
- Fazer branded radiator guard and mud fender extender.
- Rear hugger.

Bad bits:
- 41,500 miles.
- Camchain started rattling recently, minor but noticeable.
- Good cosmetic condition, few marks and some minor paint flaking on the engine/rad.
- No tax (negotiable).
- MOT til end of Aug 2013 (this year!).

ok people whats the foccers concensus??

Sounds like you're underselling it a bit at that price!

It looks very good, if I hadn't just bought one I think I'd of put serious thought to this.

Just for comparison, I paid £2200 for a black/yellow '02 fox eye from a dealer with similar features, but only 23k on the clocks.

Good luck with the sale!!

If your selling at that price I would take off the hugger, radiator guard and rack and sell separately as that is priced to sell quick.  If u do decide to take them off let me know as I may be a buyer for one or two of them. :)

And I'll have the things he doesn't buy ;)

Wouldn't it pay you to get it MOTd-so at least would encourage potential buyers? If MOTd then road tax is a formality(£56?)
Unfortunately theres a whole lot of "Foxeyes" up for sale at present and your average punter just thinks "10 or 11 year old bike" The mileage shouldn't be an issue if regular oil/filter changes done. Dealers asking prices higher as they can offer finance/warranty.
Selling plusses-rack,crash bungs etc. Negatives-original rubber brake hoses? no MOT/Tax.
I would be asking £1500(negotiable) start price with MOT done.

I'd snick it up a little bit, I paid 2.2 for my 03 Foxeye, but its only done 11K and is mint. And it wasn't even a blue one! Knock it up to £1500 at least.

Take the crash bungs off also, I'll have them.

Sounds a decent buy but the new owner will want the cam chain doing and that'll at least £200 at a garage (won't it?). So if you factor that in I think its priced right.

You'll get £50 for the rack, £20 for the hugger, £20 for the screen and £2.50 for the crash bungs so there's another £100.

Bought my '03 Fazer for £1850 last September. Had 13k on clock, blue double bubble screen, hugger, belly pan, similar cosmetic condition to yours. No rack mind. Had also been parked up for ages, but crucially had been serviced, new battery, mot'd, taxed and all running smooth again. TBH I thought I got a really good deal and put it down to end of season droop in bike prices.

IMO, get it taxed and mot'd and stick a £1600-1700 price tag on it.

Jeebus, with all the vultures descending for parts there won't be any bike left to sell ;-)

Still worth £1250 all-day long, much more with a renewed 12 month ticket

I know I'm saying this cos I want the parts but if it was me selling I would sell those parts I said which would probably give you 100-150, then use that to get Mot (&tax if u have insurance) and still sell it for £1500. People will always try to knock u down to a lower price.

Thanks for responses foccers. I can't take the screen off, it's the only one I have! Rest is good advice.
No offers though...anyone?

If I didn't already have a blue 03 fox eye then I definitely would.
