Hi all think i have a FORK issue , firstly my front tyre is wearing just of centre to the right ( sort of dipped ) . Front forks are soft but dont feel any softer than normal , no leaking oil , but front end isnt great over bumpy roads . Lots of bouncing and really not feeling the confidence through the twisties . Checked bearing in wheel/head and all seems fine , no play , knocking or catching anywhere . Have no history regarding fork oil change and i was thinking of changing anyway to thicker stuff as im no light weight . Has anyone come across this before ? or ideas. All ideas would be great ;)

Front tyre wear to right of centre line is normal in UK. Due to camber of road (rising to road centre).

My first 98 600 ,had a lot of lost travel in the front forks, which I suspected that the springs had become compressed. bike also bottomed out quite easily on braking I never got round to resolving this issue,
probably lots of info on the forum re fork oil. I can't see that it should deteriorate really but a possibility

Perfectly normal in UK. Roundabouts and road camber! When I fitted bt021's it was a lot worse!

Cool thanks for info , guess new tyre will sort . As about 2mm on worn part , plastic here we go again :'(

Another weird fault I had on my 600 was that when fitted with a bt21 there was a helish rumbling noise at the front . I refitted the same tyre to my thou there was no tyre noise, Considereing that the 600 has a noisy end can and the tyre noise could be heard above it ,is to say the least very strange

I changed my fork oil to 15w and i prefer it much better than the 10w, it gives the front a more solid, controlled sort of feel to it.

Ill second that, mine did the same, a very bad tyre imho, hence why they changed it quickly into the bt023

Hmmmmm, thought this rumbling was just MY tyre. All gone when changed and it had about 4mm left.
