Title: Headlight mod dazzle
Post by: DryRob on 09 November 2011, 12:07:30 pm
I've done the headlight mod on my boxeye and am concerned that I might be dazzling people. Is there anything I can do to the alignment or should not bother and be glad I'll be more visible?

I take a pair of tinsnips to the three radial lugs on the bulb base... not amputating them completely, just trimming the width a bit to allow the bulb to rotate a bit further clockwise.

There are screws to crank either or both lights up down or sideways (at least there are in my 2000 'Fazer classic').

Also , I use a piece of aluminium tape stuck on the headlight lens to mask the worst light outside the desired beam area but mine is an import so the dip beam is 'up at the right' so its quite noticable.

Need to point your bike at a white wall and experiment with a piece of cardboard to see where to place the tape.
