On a Fazer, no less :)
Only got 1 rider error for doing the swerve at 47kph the first time, got 51 on the second attempt though (although it didn't feel safe to me trying to do that speed in the wet?) . Well chuffed, just meed to get mod2 done now and I can get out riding on a proper bike in stead of my lady boy 125 :lol
The fella doing the test before me dropped his fazer too, right at the start while wheeling it into the parking space, didn't put it on the stand properly and over it went. I couldn't believe it.
Anyway, yeah, there's my useless story for today :o

Exactly what I did on my mod1 - only the one minor for not going fast enough... pretty sure that would happen if I took the test now :evil
Mod 2 was soo easy by comparison in my opinion, had a nice ride out with no minors at all, was well chuffed with that result :D
Good luck!!

Well done.
I got one minor for a missed gear change.
BUT then went and thought ah mod 2 will be easy, IT IS STILL A TEST, failed it twice before i passed. :o
-
Well done mate. And good luck with the rest of it!
-
Well done :thumbup

What's this swerve then?
(sorry, haven't done a test in a while,,,)
-
Well done, won't be long now :)

You are required to accelerate up to 50kph and swerve around a cone before coming to a complete stop between a set of other cones
-
Grats, got 2 friends waiting for thier part 1. 1 takes it friday the other in a couple of weeks time
oddly the 2 things both are worried about is the swerve test and not going fast enough for it. and also the walk back garage park lol
both schools use the fazer to btw. seems like a popular choice now for schools with the new bhp rules
-
Thanks everyone for the kind words, feels great to get one part out the way, just need to polish the normal riding standard for mod 2.

as iam an old git i have not got a clue what a mod 1 is........but well done for passing it :) ........christo...did you have any trouble with the swerve test :rolleyes
-
When I passed my test (the old 2-parter), I promptly went back to the cones and did it on my Kwak Turbo(which I had in the garage waiting for me to pass). Now, I don't consider myself to be a bad rider these days, but I often wonder if I'd pass the current test if I tried it - well done mate.
Sorry, but can't resist this - those were the days:
-
I did my Mod 1 and Mod 2 on a GS500E - but his was before the new bhp and age rules came in. Thank god I got my licence before, would have easily cost me twice as much and taken 2 years longer to get where I am now :P
-
Well done mate, nearly there.
-
Well done. All I did was read a number plate and ride round the block a couple of times. Oh and not hit the examiner when he stepped out in front of me with his clipboard.

nice one m8ty, the easy bit next just driving around. good luck.
-
Well done yersell, an good luck we the next ain.
-
Well done mate, your half way there.... :thumbup
-
well done m8 almost there :thumbup
-
well, just back from another lesson there. Mod 2 is now booked. 2 weeks to go, hopefully I can get a pass first time and then the wee VL will be going up for sale :)
-
wow that looks complicated, wasn't like that in the 60s, read a number plate, go round the block, doing left turns then round the other way doing right turns, emergency stop, a few questions on the highway code and it was pass or fail.
I failed first time for not going fast enough. I took my test in Goole, I'd never been there till the test, no training, just the myths that mates told you, I passed 2nd time and I got the ginger bloke who never passed anyone?
-
Good luck with mod 2 mate. I got a telling off for speeding but still passed and I think it was due to handling a sudden breakdown of an ambulance in front of me just coming off a roundabout as I blipped the throttle to get by in a good sized gap and left my examiner behind. :lol

Well done and good luck with Mod 2. Did mine in November after 30 years off a bike. So glad I did it.
The swerve test can be a little easier if you line it up right. ;)
-
well. today i tok my MOD2 part of my test....
and PASSED! :D :D :D
so now its time to shop around for a good (preferably RED) FZS 600 :)
let the hunt begin!
-
Well done, enjoy shopping.
-
Yay! Well done. :rollin
There's always the Thousand to consider ... ;)
-
Nah, insurance for me makes the thou unreasonable, I'm around £250-300 for the year on and fzs 600, but 850-950 for the thou!
Maybe in a year or two when there's some no claims discount to help :)
-
Well done Mick! Seems to me you can't go far wrong with the 600 anyway. Hope you can get one sorted soon.
-
Well Done ! Bet you are feeling great. Enjoy the bike shopping, ride safe but remember the learning has only just begun!
-
congrats :)
-
Well done. Some of the guys on here think a mod 1 is someone riding a scooter and wearing a parka :))

just back from picking up a 2 previous owner, 13000 mile 600 foxeye, and although its not the red I had originally hoped for, im chuffed to bits with it! :)
-
Well done mate, nice fast blue one, yes please!! :rollin
-
It is the best colour.
-
Very sweet looking bike mate - enjoy!
2 minors = a bloody good pass, nice one!
-
Well done. I passed this year too :-). Yours was better than mine tho, I failed my mod 1 first time for locking up the rear wheel for about half a metre (doh), then passed the mod 2 with 3 minors.
Oh well. Best of luck and ride safe.

cheers guys, just back in from my first nightshift (took the bike to work last night - rude not to when its nearly 30 degrees outside :lol), amazing how much more respect you get on the roads without "L" plates on, that much is for sure!

There you go, remember to nod to L plates from now on, it will make them feel better.

Totally agree - I always nod to learners! Buuuuuuuuuut i need shooting - nodded to a friggin tricycle (Piaggio MP3) this morning on way to work at 5.30am (tired). No excuse for it really I know........felt low all day :'(
-
I actually got my first EVER returned nod from a moped last week! I was shocked! Almost 2 years riding and hundreds of mopeds with only one to ever return it

I nod at all two wheeled and engined vehicles :-), actually surprised at the number of motorbikes that blank you
