Hi All, just checking the front sprocket on my bike and all seems to be well. There is a dotpunch mark on the gear shaft which tells me its been off to do the mod but how will I know??? How deep is the new nut compared to the old one? And the lock tab has been bent over in two positions telling me that thats extra security after a fix.
Thanks guys Buck

If the nut has been replaced with the modified one it will be flush with the end of the shaft. With the original nut the shaft protruded over 5 mm out side the nut.
The punch mark on the shaft is to align the gear linkage correctly and is always there. The slot in the linkage where the pinch bolt tightens should line up with the punch mark.

Measure the width of the nut, 12mm I think is the new one!

12mm is the new size of the nut, 9mm for the old
As others have mentioned, if its sat flush with the shaft then its the new one :)
The dot mark is always present from the factory and the tab washer should always be bent over twice as I'm aware...
