Over the past month several members have been getting error messages when accessing this site. We have therefore moved to a new server.
The bad news is that the site was down for about 10 hours, and that many posts made at the time of the move have been lost.
The good news is that we should have a more reliable service from now on - if you get any errors please post them below.
Thanks to simonm et al for raising and tracking the issue.

Got errors a couple of times today. Morning and just now (although obviously back up again now :eek ).

I don't think email notifications work but I could be wrong.

Shame we lost the posts but good that the server is a better one, hopefully no more problems.
I had an email notification that I had a PM but the PM has not appeared so guess it must have gone like the posts. I was able to read the PM message on the email notification though so not the end of the world.

New joiner, first post.
I can't access the website from my home broadband (BT) but it's OK from my mobile's 3G connection (Orange).
I think it's a DNS issue with the BT ISP servers, but it's still annoying.
Only noticed it last night about 11pm (BST) on the 22nd, was fine the last tie I looked at the site.

Is anyone getting intermittent email notifications that is been labelled (SUSPECTED SPAM) when receiving Topic Replies?
This is on talktalk but has only just started on 23 may and its not on all the email notifications I receive from hear.

I'm now finding it takes longer to get on the site, is this new server running on steam?????

I'm not getting emails about topics that I used to get them for. I've not un-notified from them. Is this a DB corruption issue :b or has an admin got get up of me replying ? :o

Oh bugger. I am getting the emails. They're going straight in to the spam folder.
Since they didn't used to I'd be a little concerned that the IP subnet you're on has previously been in a spamlist which isn't great news as any other gmail users will find they fall in to spam too.
If you have a word with your hosting partner and ask them to liaise with google to get the spam entry removed it might be an idea.
To clarify, this DEFINITELY did not happen on the old box. With the DNS change and site downtime I am pretty sure you're running from a different IP now and that would be the most likely culprit.

Granted I don't use any mainstream provider for my main email servers, but this hasn't affected me. I still receive emails as per usual from the site

Logged on via web mail and it is indeed the ip/host.

not sure if the server has changed anything, but when i try to post in the "naughty corner" all i get is a 403 error message saying i don't have permission.

Farjo just for a bit of balance I'd like to say I've had no problems....except for my feet being a bit chilly but I don't think that's a server issue.
