Title: who is on YouTube ?
Post by: simonm on 23 April 2013, 01:56:16 am
What is more normal than YouTube searching for Fazers at 2am ? (Nearly)

I saw this one from ivster64 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wU6UiKOINRs&feature=youtube_gdata_player (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wU6UiKOINRs&feature=youtube_gdata_player)

Who was stickered up and wondered who else was posting vids.

Great vid..... nice to near that when it's being "ridden" the Fazer sounds as good to everyone else as it does in my head!  :)

Some nice vids there mate.  What recording equipment and software do you use?

liked the video, got a question at bout 2:35 ivan changes down bout 3 times in quick sucsession and uses the cluth for each gear change rather than going down all at the same time... as a novice rider just wondering should I be doing this? I would've pulled in the clutch and gone down all in one go

My instructors always said to pop the clutch a bit on every gear change - it prevents the gears from crunching or entering in to a false gear or false neutral. So I will always pull clutch, drop a gear, let clutch out, clutch back in, gear down etc for each gear. One other bit of advice is to blip the throttle just before you change down whilst the clutch is in. Makes the change a lot smoother when letting the clutch out as the revs are more in line with the road speed of the next gear

I think Robbie8666 is talking about batch gear changing.  This is fine.  You can change down 3 gears at a time if you want, nowt wrong with that (for example drawing up to traffic lights) but generally one gear at a time like Dead Eye says.

Dropping in batch can be an issue during normal riding can be bad as your revs can scream and you could lock the rear wheel or destroy your engine.  Going down a gear at a time also allows you to keep track what gear you're in from the revs if you do it like that.

Although due to currently ongoing insurance claim my solicitors suggested I remove my 'good' videos, as soon as its sorted they'll be back up along with the accident!
