Title: Think it time for some new rubber
Post by: chaparral02 on 14 April 2013, 09:30:43 pm
I don't like the look of these cracks in my rear michelin pilot tyre so I think it time to get a nice new set of Michelin P3's fitted.... ;)

That picture shows that the rubber has gone brittle... :eek  Meaning it will give zero grip as it's lost all pliability. Throw in bin and get some nice new rubber and transform your bike :)

Me too, only this is what happened to my Pr3's after not even 10 months and 4K. Must be a Michelin thing. Out of interest, how old are they ?

They were on my bike when I brought it brand new in August 2008 and they have now done just over 5000miles....

Time for a change then. Get yourself a new set for the summer. I got some 023 Bridgestones a couple of weeks ago for my 8, £225 fitted for the set. Feels nice to have new rubber under you. :lol

So the rubber was over 5 years old before you got it?  :eek

Man, are you in for a treat when you get new rubber under you!

By the way, the is a manufacture date is on the side wall, it is a four digit number, first two are the week, second two are the year, so 2007 is the 20th week in 2007.
