Can anyone explain how I f*cked this one up? Left side, after first 3 km ride this year. :'( New chain installed during winter, maybe f*cked up the rear wheel alignment? Nothing else thankfully broke. Hopefully my local dealer has a spare. I'm sick and tired of driving a car.

I don't think you could do that by bad wheel alignment. Maybe you hit it by backing into a wall that you hadn't noticed :eek .
Maybe should have gone to spec savers :evil .

could you just replace the threaded part ? save a few quid and readily available ;)

Hard to believe that. :lol The screw was almost all the way in the swingarm because of the new chain and this forced the end off too. So the more I think about it, the more it has to be me f*cking up the alignment. :\ Guess I gotta learn everything the hard way. :lol

Not likely. The thread seems to be a bolt that has been embedded in the cast. And I wouldn't feel safe knowing I'd welded a new thread on. ;)

The Finnish importer has a spare in stock, so I'll hopefully be getting it before the weekend. I think I might try and straighten it out today on a vice, just to get the Menace on the road again. Aye it's a nice T-Cat (my mate's), but still way inferior to a Fazer! ;)

I'd do that too.
You could also put a few nuts on there put a metal plate on either side and compress against the nuts. That way the thread shouldn't get damaged.

What size are the locknuts again? Need 2 today

Locknuts are standard M8 course series nuts. i.e. 8mm dia x 1.25mm pitch thread.

Got the spare part today. Fitted it on, no problems. While I'm sitting on the ground wrestling the axle into place, I noticed a very small leakage on the rear brake pedal. Take a smell of it, it's petrol.
FUCK!
Tank is leaking. :groan
Sand the paint off, find a couple of tiny spots and one small hole. I hope plastic padding work's as a temporary fix. Gotta look into getting a replacement tank this summer. :'(
EDIT: Recommendations for sealant?
