HI All, I have a 98 Fazer the idle speed is a bit high at 1500 rpm, the cable that adjusts it is seized, is there any other way to bring the idle speed or would I be better and just leave it alone as the bike is going well. It has almost 58000 miles on it.
Many Thanks.

Not much you can do without remove the carbs I think, removing there won't do any harm as long as you get as good of seal on the airbox and intake headers as is already on it, then you will have a good grasp on the adjuster. Maybe if you have the time or patience the carbs might need a good cleaning, depending on how long it's been since they were cleaned but if its running sweet as a nut maybe best to leave well alone, up to you but that's what I would do after going to all the bother of taking the carbs out, hopefully a little gentle persuasion might free it(hammer :D)

I have the bike over 3 years and the carbs were never touched, I think i will leave it alone as the bike is going well.
Many thanks.

If you can lift the tank you might be able to get some wd40 down onto the end of the idle adjuster.

will try that as its due a service soon and i have to change the fuel filter.

If it's running ok, I'd leave it be for now.

Same here...you could bring on more trouble than what it's worth.

To adjust the idle, you twist the big thumb wheel on the left hand side of the carbs. The thingy on the throttle is only for cable slack :)
