Title: mini bike cam problem (fixing wind noise)
Post by: simonm on 02 April 2013, 05:34:54 pm
Bought one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290789597574?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290789597574?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649) from China as it seemed recommended (http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,6679.msg62530.html#msg62530 (http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,6679.msg62530.html#msg62530))

I've used the velcro on my helmet as I'm delaying any permanent attachment until Alexander potentially does a write up on how he did his (learn from the master ;-))

The problem I have is wind noise on the microphone.  Any advice ?, just stick tape over it or can I use anything else to muffle it ?

I've taken it apart and I'm pondering disconnecting the microphone or perhaps seeing if I can shoehorn a 3.5mm jack in to the back plate with a microphone in the helmet.

Ideas ?

I would post this in general forum but I'm afraid that I'm spamming the threads too much as it is  ;)

I have stuck a small bit of the same sticky velcro you use to attach the cam to your lid over the mike, no wind noise at all but still a good engine/exhaust note.

Sorted.
