I quite like it. Won't be as fast as a blue and white one though
-
no....dont like that...sorry to be blunt :)
-
looks like a quick botch job tbh
again - sorry to be blunt
HOWEVER - ever thought of asking a professional spray painter to take your idea and "improve" it?:
-
errrrrr..............it's a 10 minute photoshop job, not real!
may i suggest specsavers :lol
-
na dont like it sorry
-
Don't give up the day job :rollin :rollin

If you post up the origional pic and maybe a couple of other views of the bike I could do some 'shop mockups for you. Any other colour schemes you're interested in?
-
I see where you're coming from with this. Maybe slant the orange sections more to cover more of the tank and tail unit?
Don't discard the concept on the basis of a few negative replies here. You obviously fancy something like this and it's what appeals to you, not others, that counts. :)
-
Yes good idea, try a few options and improve it,
Painting bikes is a nice way of customising and if its good ,,a head turner,
From what i have seen most of the fine detail, stripes, arrows etc seem to be stickered on.
I would like to paint mine but thats another thing.

lets try a yellow with black/white speedblock or mars bar RD look

Sadlonely
I like the concept too, a similar to the RD500 Marlboro colours of yesteryear. :D
Only thing I'd say is the bike needs full fairing to get full effect and then I have never seen a gen 1 fairing that looks good :rolleyes
Jacko

I knew it reminded me of something, the old Nigel mansel mclaren
-
The problem with this type of modification to the looks is if its a bad paint job, or it just looks shite then what.....pay to get it done again...then what if it still looks shite....you could go down the cheaper route of stickers or vinyl.....then if it looks shite then you can peel them off with the aid of a hairdryer.

Would leave it as it is though. Looks nice and grey colour doesn't easily get stained.
-
Dude. ... thats a good looking bike as is.
Only thing I would change is the length of ya link pipe
Ooh err :o
-
A bloke on the TRX forum had one (TRX) in Marlboro colours which looked super cool. Done well I think it's a nice idea but would google loads of images before going ahead to see what looks good. 8)

tend to agree with mike needs to be slanted back a bit

better with white wheel
-
If you go white from the rear of the headlight, using the angle it is at (bonus if it's the same as forks), to the front tip of fairing. Then red, orange from headlight to the rear of the fork (same angle). White to the end of fairing and over the tank. Red,orange for rest of tank then split the rear end with the two colours you use. I think that would make each colour from front to rear get slightly wider as you head to the rear of the bike.

Maybe you should consider specsavers yourself? :lol

better with white wheel
Hmm if atall as i reckon the silver is good as is :b ( just cause mine was and it goes faster with that colour :b #) with the white wheel it does look a little better

This is what I am considering doing. As you can see my photobucket skills are legendary(!) and then I couldn't save the image so had to photo it and upload it again. Opinions?

I'm no Photoshop expert either but here's my take on it , Couldn't use the Op's Silver pic for some reason so used a pic of mine instead.

I think you should go with what you want not others make it yours you will always find thoose who don't like it (usally stock bike riders) and thoose who love it (modders) in the end its your project make it as subtle or whacky as ya want

You're right there. I went my own way with my ZX7R and it turned out ok. I do like a well modded bike and there seems to only be a few who do it on here so I will join the minority :)
-
I really liked the original red and white R1s....maybe try to do similar ??
-
be a leader not a follower. ;)
-
Sadlonely git,
Your design reminded me of my old 250LC with it's red and white colours. Not suggesting you you copy it (although feel free!!), but may help with ideas, even if it helps you to decide not to do something.

nearly there with this
