Title: After Market clocks
Post by: IanBitmap on 06 March 2013, 04:14:21 pm
Hi Folks,
I was thinking of changing my clocks on my 98 fzs600 to an aftermarket set - has anyone had any experience/or issues doing this? It looks possible, though i wasn't  sure if i needed to do some funky with the throttle position sensor (i think it runs via the clocks, though will need to study the wiring diagram - i may be wrong..)
Any help appreciated,
Thanks
Ian, Glasgow

TPS does not go to the clocks. it works directly with the ECU/Ignitor. Don't know anyone who changed the clocks on a Fazer

I did it on my '98 R1 which worked out fairly well. I used a Koso RX10. Not cheap, but did the job well, and was 'fairly' easy to fit.

Ah cool - cheers for the speedy response; good to know the TPS isn't impacted - that nugget of misinformation was something someone had mentioned but admittedly I hadn't looked into yet.
Nice to know it was fine on the R1 too :)
