My new exhaust arrived today and the other bits will be here later, engine case by the end of the week! I should be back on the Fazer by the weekend.

All I gotta do then is clean the beast and touch up a few bits of flakey paint with the couple of weeks off I'm getting later in the month!

Looking good!
-
Is that a Moto GP exhaust?
-
Yeah it's a Hawk GP from Pipewerx, the fit is fantastic took about 3 mins to fit and it sounds beautiful. £149 for can, linkpipe and fittings. Ordered it monday afternoon it came earlier. I couldnt be happier! :) :) :)
-
Looks exactly the same as my SP Engineering Moto GP end can.
-
Could you give me a link, Will?? That looks cool....must have one!
Also, I like your carbon fibre on the swing arm. Where or how did you get that?
Hope you don't mind....but lose the footpegs man, or spray them black!! :eek

The swing arm was done with carbon effect vinyl and those pegs I may swap out for black ones.

Bit surprised you bought one that says "Not Road Legal" on the advert when they also sell the same sort of exhausts that are legal and have BSAU markings and a removable baffle?

On their website in the "FAQ" section, the "Not Road Legal" pipes can be set up to take the a "db killer" baffle too on request. Maybe he has done this or can do this later.

I never took the baffle out of mine at all, it was simply too loud and drew too much unwanted attention!
I've just put my Quill race can back on mine. I bought a baffle for it and cut 75% off the long pipe so it looks like it's fully baffled but in reality it's more of an ornament that looks the part.
It's got a much deeper rumble to it, i just fancied a change! :)
Only downside is that i can now hear squeaks and vibrations from the fairing area that i couldn't hear before. :thumbdown

...that's not too bad unless you start to hear squeaks for the engine!!
I took my baffle out of the venom. It's still not too bad. The cops are more relaxed over here about bike exhausts and noise...unless of course you are doing the dog on it. I like that pipe will has. I rushed into buying that venom...nice pipe but a bit bland. A shorter pipe with a black finish would suit my bike better. So i'll think I'll get something like that and ebay my venom to oddset some of the costs.
I notice on Will's bike that the clearance form the pipe to the swingarm is rather tight. My venom was the same. The link pipe could have done with a bit more "angle out" on it for more clearance. What way is your Quill fitting?

There you go:

Here's the SP Engineering one:
-
Sorry Packie, i realised earlier what you asked so took a photo when i got in (dunno why i bother cleaning the bike?)
There's about one inch of clearance with the Quill, but it's not like it's flapping about or anything.
-
I did a noise test earlier and it's actually quieter than the beowolf can I had on before it was knocked over. also my MOT tester and the police are quite relaxed about the noise. As long as it doesnt say not for road use it won't fail an MOT the only reason it says "not road legal" is because it doesnt come with a baffle, if it does become an issue I can fit one.

My mechanic is very relaxed but when he MOT'd the bike for the first time with the Moto GP exhaust on he gave me an advisory for being too noisy!
He'd already printed the MOT when i pointed out the BSAU markings which he had missed, meaning it was totally legal.
It wasn't a problem, just a bit annoying. He passed it no problem after that.
If you ever need a baffle just do what i did and cut one down, it's not made too much difference with the noise or performance at all, but it shows you're making an effort. :)

Thanks for the Photos Darrsi. Tidy bike you got there. I like the SP can over the Quill. It would be killer if it was in Carbon Fibre or black like Will's.

It's tidy in summer, whenever that is? It's a waste of time keeping it clean at the moment! Cosmetically it could be improved though, the previous owner mullered the bike, but mechanically it's pretty sweet.

Thanks for the link, Darrsi. Your SP can and Will's Pipewerx are both nearly the same in design, but Pipewerx are over £40 cheaper.

The SP one's do come with BSAU markings on as well, but from info you've provided earlier that doesn't sound like too much of an issue at all in Ireland, bearing in mind you don't need MOT's? :)
Over here it's something you can point straight at, as long as it's baffled, and the police will leave it well alone. :stop

Not at the moment they don't, but if the eussr gets its way, they might...
