I pass this guy every day - he's going South, I'm going North. He's on a red 600 - boxeye Mk1. I'm on the same but black, headlight mod, carbon micron exhaust.
I pass him here literally everyday right here: https://www.google.co.uk/maps?q=51.521241,-0.123832&ll=51.520387,-0.119305&spn=0.007878,0.020063&num=1&t=m&z=16 (https://www.google.co.uk/maps?q=51.521241,-0.123832&ll=51.520387,-0.119305&spn=0.007878,0.020063&num=1&t=m&z=16)
I've tried the Foccers salute - lots of times. I've tilted head, waved, hollared, bliped engine and horn, but no response!! I know us Londoners are right aresy twats most of the time - but come on!!! Anyone we know? I might have to set the Cardinal on him!

I was planning on coming down to the meet on Sunday - gonna head to Greenwich for about 10.30. Might not make it all the way down to SOuthend as the boss wants me back in time for tea, but look forward to seeing you there.
Will see if I can bring a camera and can do some pics similar to my one of your bikes.... hall of fame type of thing.
-
well I clicked on your link and I can't see either of you?
-
What you talking about - he's right there! See, look at this screen shot....

Think he's just about to run into a bit of trouble....
-
thing is.. if you pass each other every day, he will then feel obliged to nod/wave etc everytime you pass. you dont know him, he doesnt know you. he's just going to work. i dont wave at every car when i'm driving. neither do i nod every time at every biker. stop in any biker caff and you will often hear some loudmouth twat going on about his cornering skills. i wouldnt want to know him, much less nod to him. some nod, some dont. get used to it.

This months meet isn't going to Southend - we are going from Oakdene Cafe to Dungeness / Lydd
Thought I had better mention it haha
-
Sorry meant Dungeness. geography was never my strong point.... U guys meeting in Greenwich first off?
Oh and caretaker, I totally get your point... I don't nod at many riders, Esp in London. I don't hang around biker caffs and don't talk about cornering... Only cornettos. Just thought that coz he was on a fazer....

I think the consensus is a prelim meet at Blackheath tea hut. I should be there at least, I think DeadEye will be too. Look out for a 2 FZS600s, one black one blue!
-
Great. I'm a half hour from Blackheath. See you there

We'll see - new tyres, reconditioned discs and clutch plus other work has been done so I'll have a bit more an edge compared to last time we went out :P
-
Not to mention 62BHP over me.... :rolleyes
-
He probably thinks your a right Foccing twat :rollin
Not everybody who owns a Fazer is a Foccer and not every Foccer owns a Fazer. Enlightned or What?
Ok don't answer that
-
i'll nod to complete strangers whilst im walking down a street, its how ive been brought up & i'm a 'youth of today' ish!!! :rolleyes
but folk are right tossbags these days & people look at me like i've just pissed on their sister or somethin so now i play the staring game stand-off, look like your about to nod, judge if they're gonna nod, decide they aren't & then glower at them as you pass...then get your head kicked in :\
-
why is it people think cos someone rides a bike they are in any way friendly to everyone, or our next best friend ??. If people nod or gesture to me I usually do same back, but I dont think " asshole" if another biker doesnt nod....they are in reality just another road user. People dont take to two wheels to join some esoteric community of like minded creatures...these days probably just want to save on fuel !
To put the so called " community of bikers" in perspective, I often ride out alone, drop into well known bike meets full of people, 99% of whom just dont acknowledge others outside their own group. Its rare for anyone to talk to me unsolicited.Usually its older riders, often on tourers. I find many sportsbike riders utterly devoid of social skills! ..bragging to their mates seems the biggest pastime or showing off to any one whose looking. In reality many english bikers adopt the front of being friendly to other bikers but dont back it up in practice. I am quite happy with it all, as I dont always stop to chat , more to have a wet or a bite to eat , but still shows up the whole biker myth IMO.
Abroad its a different picture. It never ceases to amaze me how friendly german and scandanavian bikers are to all bikers. Year after year I meet up with total strangers who are so polite and friendly towards fellow bikers. They make an effort to integrate, whatever you ride.....Its part of why I love touring in germany, austria and Italy( dolomites especially)

It's true.
