the FZ8 doesn't appear to be very popular judging by amount written in here.
or else where for that matter.
do you guys think that Yamaha made a mistake discontinuing the Fazer 600.
got to admit the Fazer600 from 02/03 were the best.
sure they could of use the same engine with fuel injectors instead of using the R6.
I like the look of the FZ8 but its a bit thirsty and a short range.
the xj600 doesn't seem a lot going for it in comparison.
so what is your opinion.

I have an XJ600 and a Fazer, the xj600 is nothing on the fazer, althought has the same clunky gearboxes! Much softer suspension too... Engines not too bad, but a bit rattly being oil cooled.
-
workmate of mine has a xj600......bought it thinking it would be a match for my mk1 600.....nowhere near :eek ....too soft and squiggy and cant keep up on the straights or bends......dont think he will have it long ;)
-
Its defo in a different league, but I think it has a charm of its own. :)
-
Nothing that much wrong with the FZ8 except the ridiculous price, that's why it's unpopular.
-
OTR £7999 and Est 39 mpg! Doesnt make for good reading!
-
Didn't know they'd stopped the FZ6, although I was wondering yesterday. Spooky!
-
I really don't get the FZ8 at all.
It's basically a thou with a sleeved down engine and cheaper bouncy bits.
Less oomph, same weight.
Why?
I know it'll be slightly cheaper to insure and run, but I really think they missed a trick with this one.
I've said it before, but an all new 800 engine for an R8 could have slid nicely into a variety of different frames, least of all the FZ range, and allowed them to have a full range of 800 bikes from race reps to trailies.
