Hi all
As mentioned before, I have gotten round to finishing my custom LED Indicator boards, a video and some pics over on my blog:

Any feedback welcome!

Well if anyone say's they did not know you were going to turn, you can present them with a white stick.
-
Damn right :) they weren't too hard to do either
-
Hi if you take a look at the post front fork respray and scroll down you will see wear I put my led indicators on my old black fzs600
-
Ah yes I think I can see, do you have any more pics? Did you use led strips?
-
If you got some small male and female bullet connectors you could remove the old sockets, thread the leads though the stalk and have a neat job without wires bodged onto old bulb bases. ;)
-
True, but then I would have had to wait until I got the bullet connectors, and patience isnt in my virtue!
-
yes I did front and back.
-
Ah looks good.where they drilled through the fairing or stuck on top. Looks good
-
Through the fairing so they sat flush front ones a little harder to do as they are on acurve a little more space between each hole as the the gap on the strip becomes bigger as you bend it.
-
Nice idea like that a lot. Will keep it in mind for my next project
-
I put LED indicator strips on the front of my bike yesterday, i'm very impressed with the results!
-
Awesome, any pics?
-
Let me work the new phone out and i'll sort a video out!
-
Look forward to it :)

Don't know if this video is gonna work?
If it does, sorry about the sniff, i have a cold, and the beeping is for the benefit of every arsehole who insists on stepping out in front of me as i turn into my road! A blast of the air-horn normally follows :lol
Can you let me know if the video is viewable please? :thumbup

Ok, i've just been told it is a viewable video, so Packie you're gonna have to tell your bosses to upgrade your Commodore PC :lol
These are the lights i bought http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Amber-LED-Stick-On-Indicator-Turn-Signal-Strips-For-Yamaha-FZS-600-S-Fazer-/180967760572?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2a2284e2bc (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Amber-LED-Stick-On-Indicator-Turn-Signal-Strips-For-Yamaha-FZS-600-S-Fazer-/180967760572?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2a2284e2bc)
Had to undo the indicator to slip the wire inside the fairing, then the stripped back wire was put through inside of the bullet connector of the original indicator cable, folded back a bit then pushed back in. Be careful stripping the wire back as the cable is very thin.
The positive/negative wires do have to be the right way round too, otherwise they don't work, as i found out!
I positioned the LED strip just before the curve at the front of the fairing to keep it from being bent at all, as i figured when/if the weather gets hot the heat may melt the double-sided tape and undo it.
*** The advert says you will need resistors to keep the lights in sync with the original indicators, you do NOT need them, they sync just fine ***
I put them on just as an extra warning for when you poke the front of the bike out from a side turning, and to be honest i never thought they'd be that bright but it appears to be a small amount of money well spent :D
-
However you will need them if you remove the original bulbs :)
Thanks for the info

I did attempt YouTube but it stopped me posting for some reason? :rolleyes
