Post by: stevierst on 29 January 2013, 08:20:54 pm
Has anyone fitted Renthal 789's to the mk1 fazer 600? If so, were there any clearance issues. :D

I fitted 'em to my '99 bike. From memory the throttle cables fouled either the RHS fairing or RHS mirror on full lock. I moved the cables & tilted the bars downwards and it wasn't quite as bad. I suppose riser extenders raising the bars upwards & backwards might alleviate the problem.

Bit disappointing as they looked well, and TBH I rode around for a while with them on (safety be damned) with no problems bar U-turns. When I fitted fairing extender plates (see current handguard thread) no problem anymore ;)

Nice one Kebab, much appreciated. There's a set on evilbay atm that I'm looking at. Lets see if I win 'em ;D

Cheers Steve, was going to make the same thread as this at some point  :lol . Can you get risers that pull the bars up and back then? These bars feel nice for me but I would get rid of the bar pad personally.
