My touring buddy has just weighed his 1050 Triumph in for a FatBoy special :rollin
I've had a squint and it is a good looking bike, if you must ride a motorised sofa then this looks a good choice.
Obviously I am taking every opportunity to smirk at him and mess with his mind. I've already rang him this morning to discuss the generous lean angles on this beast, 25.6 degrees to the right and a full 25.2 degrees to the left.
On the plus side the bike weighs in at a svelte 330kg :lol
But I've scoured the internet and I can't find the power output. Harley don't mention it.
Anyone ?

Surely "clued up" & "harleys" don't belong in the same sentence? :lol
Are they working on the same principle as Rolls Royce then? RR claim that their cars have "sufficient" power :rollin :rollin :rollin

Interesting that although they won't quote power, they are quite happy to quote lean angle.
Did Yam ever publish a lean angle on the 600 ?

not far off 100bhp I think , but be warned the very few I've ridden have had enough torque to tow an artic ! but they had all be tinkered with
TBO I cant think of ever seeing a claimed bhp of a new one ! but I havent excatly looked for it ! I've never been that bored before ! :lol

Anyway, surely lean angle is dependant on the weight of the rider (& how much the suspension is compressed), so I hope they measured with typical harley rider build, for a true figure :rollin

I used to live near the RR factory outside Chicester and from trying to keep up with one getting spanked up the A27, the power they have is more than sufficient! :lol:

I followed one and it cornered much better than I thought it would, I think it's not only how good the bike is but how good the rider is as well?

I think he'll find the Harley's limits before it finds his.

My old man (67) rides his HD 1200 xlwhatever pretty quickly, he's not got much metal left on his pegs/pipes. Keeps up with most riders up to about 80mph, then he gets too much wind up his trouser legs :lol :lol :lol

Fat boy's i think are about 15 cubic inches cyclinder size.
And finally the "fat boy" is named after the 2 bombs dropped on Japan in WW2.

My mate and his wife have a fatbob each. They are pretty quick up through the gears and he can handle his like a toy, tho he has been riding harleys for 35 years.
I had a 1200 sportster which was good off the mark but handled like a tank and brakes to match.

I recall there was an ex-racer back in the 90s who was running a HD dealership that offered a 'put up or shut up' challenge in MCN for anyone to beat him on his Harley round a UK track, where the winner left with both bikes, don't think he had many take him up on the challenge.

paul 'loopy' lewis, ex skoal bandit rg500 racer...........and his bike was a very well sorted racer, however i think the lack of interst was due to no-one actually wanting to take the bike home with them :rollin

I saw Loopy Lewis at the Beaulieu bike show a few years back, he was doing verticle wheelies and doing that gymkhana stuff around a very tight little circuit. Truly awesome. And opened my eyes to how good a Harley could be, with the right rider on?

I went on a tour with aguy ona harley and tbh it ssurprising at road speeds how well they keep up. They are not anywhere as dynamic in as sold tune as say a racers special. They simply will be left behind due to lack of ground clearance for a start. But they aint sold as fast bikes are they ...they are cruisers.And they satisfy their target market.
