Its ok, they arent Triumph ones. Mines been ok so far, July 2010 and 26,000 miles.
The Street Triple had a recall on r/r due to many failures. Mine was ok in the 2 years I had it, but the ST forum was awash with failures.

Mine has very practical mods:
Baglux tank cover as I have Tank bag to match already
R&G Crash bungs, Hugger, and fender extender
R&G heated grips which get very toasty, hoping they are more reliable than Oxford
Akropovic can with R&G protector on it.
Thinking of taking out shares in R&G!!
Photo on another thread, but doesn't really show these :\

all look very smart :)
just something missing from all of them :o
like about 200cc :lol
-
i could say that to you when i was running this you would be 441 short :D :D
-
or this then you would be 700 short :lol :lol

:) Went out with three of these from Boxhill to Bury Hill, thought they wouldn't go down the twisties, was beating them on roundabouts and they couldn't leave the Fazer on the straights either, now it is run in, just need to learn to change up quicker before the limiter cuts in! :D
Feel sure there would be no contest down the tight lanes as the Fazer is so handy.

It must be those extra 200cc which burns up all the extra fuel they need. I get 55mpg+ on a run.

Maybe they were just in 3rd gear :rollin believe me your fazer would be no match for the zzr on the straight :rolleyes

I agree about the fuel but if you buy the zzr you dont buy it to be frugal on fuel

I know the fz1`s are quick as ive had the gen1 and the gen2 fazers

Mmmmmm can't say I agree. I've had 2 Thou Gen1's, whilst I agree they are fantastic bikes, I love my Fazer8, and given the choice now I would take the 8 over the thou. Just a matter of personal preferance really :D

Done another mod today got my seats done
-
I give in a total waste of time this forum is cant see any point in having an fz8 section when nobody uses it
-
Give it time, I'm sure ( I hope) that as time goes on the forum will get busier. It is a bit dissapointing after all the input on the fazer 6 and 1 side ( I have owned a foweye 6 and two Gen 1 Fazer thou's). I think the 8 is so new that there just aren't enough of them around.
Only mod I have is a carbon Mivv GP which I got on Ebay but haven't fitted yet.
I'll post a pic when it's on.
Your's looks excellent by the way.
:)

Its probably down to the low number of Fazer8/FZ8 owners, if thats not stating the bleedin obvious.

Here's a pic of mine, near Zig-Zag-Hill (Wilts) last week. Ain't exactly clean as the roads were a bit wet, but it is now :)
Only mods so far are : rack and box, crash bungs and centre stand and tank protector (all Yamaha), plus a fenda extenda and Oxford heated grips.
Just got off flea bay a touring screen (Yamaha) and a slip on exhaust, Mivv Carbon GP single port.
Never had a Mivv exhaust before so looking forward to hearing what it sounds like. ( see my other post re raod legal baffle and Ride Magazine comments)
Absolutely love the 8, great bike and hopefully will become more popular as people realise how good it is. ( Thats my opinion anyway FWIW)
-
Now that looks sweet, good colour choice too ;)
As for mivv exhausts, got a gp in carbon on my fz1. With the baffle in its rather fruity. A bit to obnoxiously loud for me without it as I start work very early in the morning.

I took this pic soon after I got my bike, taken just around the corner from yours, where all the model glider flyers do their sport. The touring screen is good, helps keep all the flies off my jacket. I havent ridden it for ages, I missed a ride the sun today as I was down in London.

There's a few nice roads round there. Have you been to Compton Abbas airfiled for a coffe stop...I often go there. The B3081 is a nice ride. Got my bike from Crescent at Verwood at the end of last November. Looking forward to racking up some miles on it.
-
I've only been to the airfield once, to a bike meet. I think it is Thurdays in the summer. I'll defineatly make a point of dropping in there this year, hopefully when a few learners are bouncing their way down the 'strip :lol

Hi Black8.
When you had your seats recovered did you get any gel inserts put in, and who did them for you?
I was also wondering how you find the 8 compared to the fz thou's you've had?
And finally, hi to everyone.
Das.
-
I'd have thought the Fazer8 seat would be the same as the 1000 as it shares so many parts. I noticed at the bike show that the 2013 Fazer8 has a different construction, its much softer.

gel pad in front 1,got my mate Tony Archer to do them for me while i waited, compared to the fz1 its loads better on fuel , the riding position is very much the same and lot more agile

Only owned my Black Fazer8 a few weeks and done just over 400 miles (due to weather). Done a few mods so far and have a few more in mind when the budget allows. I'll post some photos soon, so far....
- Centre stand
- R&G Areo crash bungs
- R&G tail tidy
- Scorpion Stainless end can (awaiting delivery, not fitted yet.)
Future mods...
- Twin dipped lights mod
- R&G heated grips
- Beowolf Rad grill
- gold short levers
I'll ask at the garage if they will do the headlight mod at the 600 mile service. I had it done with my FZ6 fazer years ago and it makes the bike look a lot better as well as the advantage of making it easier to see and be seen. R&G heated grips are 'RIDE Recommended' for being simple and effective. I had Oxfords before and they were useless. I love the look of the gold Rad Guard on Black8's bike works well with the forks and gold in the callipers I might add gold levers to the mix aswell. If I suddenly find myself with too much money, I may consider full givi hard luggage for a bit of touring around europe in the summer and a set of lower fairings that i saw on another site 'FZ8-forum.com' that a guy bought from France, they look awsome.
