Title: Do you need leathers for a track day?
Post by: Bracechenko on 29 December 2012, 04:55:03 pm
As above really, i have 2 piece textiles and dont really want to buy leathers just for a track day. Is it every track or do they vary regarding what you can and cant wear?

Peace out :)

If they zip together, i believe you'll be fine.

I don't know about all, but certainly a lot of tracks require one-piece leathers, however the good news is that you can often hire them from the venue or from specialist suppliers, just search for Trackday leathers hire and you should find several places to help you.

Every trackday I have seen needs 1 or 2 part full zip together leathers.
But as said above plenty of places to get hire ones.

What the others have said, Mike. One or two piece leathers with full zip around. Also some places insist on the gold ACU sticker on your helmet :eek

For what they cost to hire, you could pick up a second hand set on ebay for about the same, depending on make and quality and they are yours for keeps.....Cos once you get the bug....! ;)

as far as i know all uk track require at least zip together leathers not textile, this is the best time of year to pick up a bargin off ebay etc for one piece leathers,i got mine(hardly used) for £25 a few winters back,i cant stand them for everyday riding/shoping etc but great for have a blast out and esp for tracks, try some new ones in shops to get the size you need!

Just bought a 2 piece set of leathers from EBay for 75, very good condition. Anyone ever heard of Joe Rocket as a brand?
