At the end of Spring or very early summer I'm hoping to make a trip down to Munich? One of my Neices moved with her husband and kids.
I'm hoping to make a trip to the Stelvio pass as its only a few hundred miles away and would be daft not to go that bit further down through Switzerland . My question is, what other places in this part of Eorope are a "Must do" whilst making this trip?
Suggestions please?

Good question,,we are taking a similar route on May29th, enroute to Mugello Motogp.
We will be stopping in Switzerland one night.
I have travelled the area 3 times in years gone by, I can only remember those beautiful blue green lakes in Austria though.
It was a great trip down the route of the river through Germany up to Switzerland, the Rhine.

Damn, I've just looked at a map of Europe and Austria is where I thought Switzerland was. Still300miles ish to Stelvio but still rather annoying.

You could have a day out to the http://www.grossglockner.at/ (http://www.grossglockner.at/) I'd guess about a 300mile round trip but it may be closed till early summer quite a few passes are . Going down that way myself early September, stopping a few days near Bolzano and hoping to try a few of the famous passes.

I think the best option is do some motorway through France ot Belgium to get some miles out of the way, its not that interesting countryside anyway. Then after Liege (B)//Namur (B)/Riems (FR) depending which way you go, take the scenic route.
Its defineatly worth spending some time in the Black Forest, unless its pissing down when you usually cant see much. The famous B500 is very scenic, if a little slow on the northern part due to speed restictions.

Though Belgium on the motorway then Monschau, Eiffel area past the Nuburging is good riding, South avoiding the motorways, take the local roads, through Idar Oberstein, Baden Baden, B500, Tuttlingen to Sigmaringen following the river Danube (Donau in German) is nice, then onwards to Munich.

Crossing the middle of Luxembourg from Bastogne in Belgium to Trier in Germany, avoiding the motorways/main roads is also quite nice ride. Petrol is cheap in Luxembourg too. Avoid the main city of Luxembourg.

The area from Stuttgart to Munich is fairly flat and boring iirc. Munich sits in a fairly large flat plain.
The GrossGrockner is worth the milage if the weather is good. Its a huge area and there are plenty of good roads.

seriously! the high passes don't open until late may, and both times i've been it's been geslossen.
and deffo the b500, go to oppenau........no cops

Cheers guys, this is the stuff I'm after. I'll probably going on my own so might just try and blast it in 1 day. Does anyone know which tracks are near Munich, I'm thinking maybe an IDM race or maybe WSB if any are on, I've not set a date so can change my mind when I go?
