I've seen a specialised motorcycle warning triangle which is completely soft, so can be folded and stuck under the seat etc.

When you need to use it, you unfold it into a pyramid shape and put your lid inside to weight it down.

Sounds like a neat idea to me.

I agree that in theory that sounds like a good idea, but would you really want to leave your lid sitting sitting in the middle of a busy hard shoulder 100 metres away?
