Title: Car battery

Well went out to start the Pick-up this morning as there was ice on the roads so thought i would take it rather than the bike.
Battery was dead :( showed no sign of struggling untill this morning. and within about 4 trys it was dead
now im gunna charge it tonight but at most thats just a get me by for a few days. so i need to buy a new one.

The one in the pickup isnt for it. its the wrong size and is stammped up for a rover.
its marked up as 12v 75ah
the ones i found for mine online seem to start at 60ah and go up to about 74ah (but its £100+ for that one)
not knowing much about batterys is the ah rate just how much charge it holds? so the higher the ah the longer it would last with turning over?
the one i put on the bike recently has a higher initial cranking rate, turns over the bike faster and stronger than any other it has had. but i cant seem to see anything on the listings about cranking rates

i will most likely go for a branded one and about the middle ah but thought i would ask about the ah etc before i hit pay :)

Last night's cold snap probably killed it - usually finds the iffy batteries!

ah rate is basically how much it'll hold. However, it'll also have a 'max current' type rating - too small and it won't put out enough to turn the engine over. Not a good idea to get the wrong one. What's the make/model/engine size of the pickup?

im fairly sure its a 096 battery
cca is listed on some of them when i look up reviews so i am a little happyer now. cca = cold cranking amps and thats the figure i been looking for.

cheap batts seem to be 60ah or under so gunna avoid those and go 70+
cca seem to start at about 400 for the realy cheap ones and go up to 6-700+

£64 lion battery 620 cca 70 ah
£63 for a ultra plus 600 cca and 75 ah
£64 for a numax (not a brand i know though) 680 cca and 72ah looks pretty good

or go for bosch / varta thats 60 ah and 450 cca for £85 lol

yeah now i found the battery code i can search for diff car types that use the same one and the price dropped a lot.

Just ordered a Bosch S4 680cca 74ah at the correct dimensions for £65.90 inc next day delivery
crazy how prices change for the same battery and same company just because its listed on a diff car lol

Bit of a normal upgrade in the LandRover community, more of a leisure/marine battery iirc.

Leisure batteries don't have the cold cranking capacity. Don't get one or you will kill it fairly quickly.

Costco sell Bosch batteries. managed to get a beast of a battery for my Mrs car for about £55.. Might be worth checking with someone with a card next time  :D
