Title: Crankcase breather hose repair or not?

I removed the engine today and i put a tear in the crankcase breather hose. Being the part that it is, would it be safe enough to tape up with black tape & then heat shrink over the tape?

If it's just a breather hose, it should be fine, as long as you don't melt it in the process.......
