This guy is pretty good too, although he appears to be cheating by just resting his bike on the ground as he goes round corners  :rollin

I'd love to stick one of these blokes in for a mod 1 test  :lol

Get dizzy just watching and how the heck do they know which way to go - do they just make it up as they go along?  :lol

You go on the left side of one colour, right side of the other colour.  I agree though I reckon I'd get lost about 3 cones in...

Everything Jorian Ponomareff does on a motorcycle is pretty good.

I had a go at MotoGymkhana earlier on in the year (see this thread (http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,3760.msg30651.html#msg30651), it was a lot of fun, but I it made me realise there's there's still a lot I need to learn about bike control!

I've been doing the UK Motogymkhana competition this year and managed to finish in equal 5th  :) . It's the main reason I bought my '02 Fazer. I was using my '99 SV650 but after trying a Fazer I realised that it was the bike for me. So I now have a Fazer and love it, it's great at Motogymkhana, has done a tour of Wales and is my daily commute.

Obviously I'm biased but Motogymkhana is a great, affordable, motorsport and I urge everyone to give it go. It'll help improve your bike control and you'll have fun doing it.

The thing to realise when watching the video posted by garysimmo is you're watching the top guy in the world doing what he does best. The grading works on a coloured bib system and to make it to red is something really special.

Just amazes me with the control and balance. I cant go anywhere these days on my bike without dropping it on the right side! :'(

I notice bar risers on that, how would it be with clip ons

The higher bars make it easier but it's perfectly do-able with clip-ons. My first experience day was on my faired SV650 but I converted it to an un-faired bike which made it easier but I didn't get on with the V-twin engine pulses and found the Fazer loads better. Others tried the SV and had no problems so it's more about what I'm comfortable with than anything. The Japanese say that you should fix the rider before you try to fix the bike but we all like to tinker and modify  ;)

The cbr in the original video will have quite a lot done to it e.g. higher bars, removed lock stops, shortened wheelbase, modified suspension, modified gearing. But, this is the top rider so you would expect some changes at the top of the sport.

There is a good video here showing the UK version.
Motogymkhana GP8 Beginner GTR (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WaxQJg7xcuk#ws)
Neil won this years championship on his Z750R but this video shows what can be achieved with a bit of practice on any bike.
