Had a tune buzzing round my head for a couple of days and I can't remember what it's called Heeellppp.
It's from the seventies I think. Instrumental with lots of trumpet, bongos and guitar. It's funk based similar sort of thing as Machine Gun by the Commodores.
It's doing my head in , I must find it and play it loud :eek
-
ABBA?

:lol

What about this one?
Not an instrumental I know, but it does have trumpets, bongos & guitars amongst other things
OSIBISA - SUNSHINE DAY (vers. 45° -7'') 1976 [video restored] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_xtTI3Ssps#)

James Last acapolco.

Soundhound (http://www.soundhound.com/) is pretty good at identifying tunes and you don't have to be able to hold a tune for it to work.
-
Maybe something by Earth Wind & Fire?
-
Was it by Maggie Thatcher............ she was mad as bongos and good at blowing her own trumpet?
-
tried humming into soundhound and it laughed at me!
Guess I'm not going to find it. :'(
-
I can name that tune in ...... :rolleyes
must be more clues than just heeelp !
-
It's a foccin instrumental :lol
About a month ago I heard it again on Steve Wright but missed the bit where he says what it was :hammer and since then it's been rattling round my head.
It's probably a seventies soul funk band and it wasn't a big hit or by a big band and it's the sort of tune that they would use as a background to talking over on the radio so probably not going to find it unless I email Steve Wright !!
-
Now that we've found love by Third World ????
-
This one?
Isaac Hayes: Shaft (High Quality) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFvRvSxsW-I#ws)

Had a look on Steve Wright show web site and they list songs played. Trawled over the last few weeks and still can't find it. :2guns
Now that we found love, INSTRUMENTAL :fish
-
Now I've got Shaft in my head :lol

Another:
"TSOP (The Sound Of Philadelphia)" by MFSB (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pfs1y6L3E7k#)

What on Earth were they????
-
And I agree that the track Steve Wrong used was probably "Pick up the Pieces" by AWB or something
-
violetsdaddy
What on Earth were they????
Instrumental with lots of trumpet, bongos and guitar.
Nearly there! :\
I am trying. :'(
-
Definately not AWB. Think Commodores/Earth Wind Fire/James Brown/Funkadelic. Really heavy on bongos and trumpets.
Been trawling the R2 website and found they list all the old shows with music played. After an hour or so it aint there :'(
Guess I'll have to wait another 20 years before I hear it again. :b
-
Is it definitely just an instrumental?
I can think of some possibilities, but they've all got lyrics/singers in them too.
-
I am trying. :'(
Yes you are... :b
What about Tower of Power?
Soul with a capital S * Tower Of Power (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lrpTho-3pU#ws)
-
No not that either.
One good thing is all the funk I've been hearing, quiet forgotten how good it can be!
-
another instrumental from the 70's
Philip Lynott - Yellow Pearl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fK4zm7SLvbk#ws)
