Title: Speedo tacho plastic covers
Post by: JayB on 21 September 2012, 03:18:57 pm
Guys, can the rev counter cover be removed?

Mine appears to have been wiped over with a dirty cloth. I thought it was on the outside but nothing will get the marks off, so it has to be inside?

The whole front comes off if you remove the clocks from the bike. 3 nuts hold clocks to subframe from memory, 10mm spanner, several phillips head screws hold the face on from the back. About 12? They might have been wiped over with something nasty that has stained the face of them in which case you can polish them using T cut or G-3.

I'd use plastic polish rather than T-Cut. :)

Hello Mike. I didn't know you could get plastic polish! What's it called? G-3 is less harsh but some people don't know of it.

A couple of options for you, Graham :)

This one  (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Novus-plastic-polish-1-2-3-small-2fl-oz-bott-59-2ml-/250881075531?pt=UK_Video_Games_Coin_Operated_MJ&hash=item3a69ad694b)is new on me but looks promising.

This (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Plastic-Polish-Perspex-Aircraft-Visor-Windscreen-Window-/160335254689?pt=UK_CPV_Aviation_SM&hash=item2554b9d4a1) is the stuff we used for decades in my old job.
