Am buying a new bike this week, but keeping the Fazer (had her too long, part of the fixtures and fittings around here ;) ).
Started looking at insewerance (had pretty good quotes, so wasn't worried), but have just seen that they'll only allow the NCD on one bike at a time. :deal Does this mean I need to take a multi-bike policy? (Because I ain't going from 14 years NCD to starting from scratch!)
Just tried ringing my ins comp, but after about 7 questions "press 1, press 2" etc, the barstewards then decided to say the office was shut. Why can't the foccers do that before the questions?!? :2guns
Wouldn't be so annoyed, but I was on the phone to them earlier, put the G/F on the fazer policy, never thought to ask them about the new bike, as they were way down the list of indicative quotes I'd got from thebikeinsurer.com. Yeah, I know, my fault that one :groan

Multi bike policies generally don't allow named riders but your own company is he one to start with as they may be able to sort out some discount for you. I did something similar with cars a few years ago. When the renewal came up on the second car I went elsewhere to get it cheaper but did get 18yrs no claims given to me for it!

that bit might completely feck my plans though - may end up transferring the NCD to the new bike, and starting again on the FZS, if needs be. Want/need the G/F to be able to ride the Fazer. Might even be worth that being in her name I guess, get her some NCD!!

You won't know till you ask!

I could have changed the existing policy to multi-bike (and kept the G/F on to ride the Fazer only), but they wanted over 150 quid to do that, and it didn't extend the term of the policy - since that runs out at the start of November, essentially they were asking for an annual premium of nigh a thousand quid.
:foc
Can't fault the effort the lass on the phone put in to get me a decent solution to the problem though, ended up swapping the NCD onto the new bike, and got a pretty decent quote for that. So starting again from scratch with the Fazer, but at least they didn't charge me anymore for that policy!
