Will it do to paint the exhaust pipes as well? Mine are a bit rusty at the front where they come from the cylinders.

to be honest no it would not be up to the job that bit it dose get hot a lot hotter then then engine this stuff shud do it http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125-ml-VQD-Car-Motorcycle-Exhaust-Paint-Matt-Black-Very-High-Temp-Heat-Resist-/120844826584? (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/125-ml-VQD-Car-Motorcycle-Exhaust-Paint-Matt-Black-Very-High-Temp-Heat-Resist-/120844826584?)

just have a look for some hvt black matt or gloss that  Resists temperatures of 650oC intermittently, and 450oC continuously. then you will be ok

tbqfh - i would say use a spray paint - it give a better finish. its a bit of an arse masking off the areas that u dont want paint on, but the finish is better.

Ill dig out the details of the spray I used and post it up.

i prepped it with wet & dry sandpaper on the bits where I wanted the paint to go - then masked off all the areas where I didnt want it to go
