Title: How to get at the air filter?
Post by: xlewisbdx on 16 September 2012, 10:52:43 am
Hi guys (again) does anybody know how to get at the air filter?

I have took the two side panels off and don't see anything there to get at the air filter.

Cheers
Lewis

Remove tank, remove the little plastic side bits (where the key lock for the seat is, but both sides), pull out the rubbery thing just next to the battery, then you'll see a round-ish plastic cap held down by four screws.  Take that off and the filter just lifts out.

You can get away with not disconnecting the fuel tank if you have a patient mate to hold it while you're fannying around. Don't pull at it too hard though or you'll yank the pipe off.

Not wanting to sound like I'm taking the piss but... Haynes manual???
I guess if you're scratching around for the air filter you'll want to do more too.
Best 10-15 quid I've spent.  Saved me shed loads.

Buy yourself a bike mechanic, they're not too expensive to run, just feed them occasionally on bacon rolls and sugary tea, then the rest of the time just keep them locked away in a garage where they're happy to run about  :lmao2 :lmao2 :lmao2

Sadly DryRob - I had already invested before finding this site!  But to be honest, I've 'wasted' more than 15 quid on far less valuable things!  :)
