I love this months choice of wildlife. It's one of my favourite things to take photos of :)
First from me, a red kite, wild, taken in Pyrton, Oxfordshire.

The second is a female red deer in Richmond Park.

Scanned in from a print taken on honeymoon in Kenya 22 years ago, can you spot 2 bulls looking to get "really wild" :eek

"Wild death" worked out it is a rat but don't know how it is about 6 foot up a tree.

Some big cats drag their kill up a tree so that they can feast later - keeps it away from the scavengers.

Good point lazarus photo was taken on Taff Trail as mentioned in article below :eek

Think that ones a bit bigger though!
Just to add some scale to it

Nope ... I can't see any cat climbing that little bush .. my guess is that the rat was more probably dropped by a bird of prey.

Must say that the quality of photos in this months comp are outstanding! :thumbup
I had been watching this Buzzards nest for a while before disaster struck! The litte one at the back had been kicked out of the nest. Up at the nest it was obvious that it's sibling was considerably larger and must be gobbling all the food. I popped the little fella back but it will probably happen again in the coming days - but that's survival of the fittest i suppose..... (note dinner on the edge of the nest)

Bt3, do you have a licence to photograph schedule 1 type birds in breeding season? Sticking a flash in a baby birds face is illegal, and downright irresponsible!! I'm sorry, but I have very strong feelings about this!! No wonder a baby has been kicked out the nest, it's probably because it's been disturbed!!

I was going to give a reply to this ................but d'ya know what - i really can't be arsed! :rolleyes
-
That's a shame, I thought it was a fair question!
-
He probably 'can't be arsed' about the welfare of the birds he's been poking about either. Very sad. It's a shame as I've been a big fan of his photos, including his urbex stuff on Flickr, but this is something else! His attitude speaks volumes. What he's done is an arrestable offence.
