Title: Is this normal
Post by: bignoggin on 31 August 2012, 05:21:28 am
I've not long bought my fazer and don't really know that much about it just wonder if its normal for the engine to be noisy when u start it up from cold, its seems to rattle abit in the morning but when up to temperature its fine. If anyone could tell me if its a normal or not it would be much appreciated Thanks

you will always get a bit of engine noise when its cold  :\  untill the oil has been pumped to the top of the engine, you can ease this by making sure the cam chain tensioner and valve clearences are correctly adjusted  :)
another top tip......empty the loose change from your pockets  :rollin :rollin :rollin

Some bikes are noisy from cold, and settle as they warm up; it takes a few seconds for oil to circulate round the top end.

I took 04 gen 1 to do a spot of shopping yesterday and, as it was only 5 minutes away, didn't bother putting earplugs in... bloody hell what a racket! Harder to pin down which bits weren't rattling/buzzing than which bits were.
So the cure seems to be earplugs  :lol
