Title: None standard exhaust
Post by: Stuajohnson79 on 22 August 2012, 08:23:08 pm
Chatting to a few guys at work who have noticed that there is a Nexxus exhaust system on board, they've been asking if the air filter has been up graded, fuel map set and other things. Obviously I have no idea what's been done. Do certain things need to be carried out if the system has been replaced? It's a full system from the down pipes back!

Ask them exactly how they'd install a custom map, on a carbed bike...   :rollin :rollin

The FZS600 runs a bit rich as standard, and needs no re-jetting with an after market can - I don't know for sure, but am 99.9% certain that will remain the case with a full exahust system replacement too.

is yours is the carb model fazer ?if so how can it be mappeed?!!!mine is (a 98 600) and it has aftermarket end can with no need for any other work to work fine,im pretty sure  the nexxus system is ment as a direct swap with no need to alter anything at all,the best and easy  thing to check if every thing is working ok is to take plugs out and have a look and see on the colour to see if its running too rich or lean etc

Haha, I hadn't even thought about the mapping issue!

I've recently fitted a full system with Simmi end can (baffles still in), K&N filter element and new plugs and she runs sweet as a nut. Pulls really strongly with no flat spots and no re-jetting!  ;)

I have aftermarket downpipes and end can plus K&N Air Filter and new plugs (well 2,000 miles ago I did) and have had no trouble at all

I have just replaced my exhaust system with a full system from Delkevic and I didnt change the air filter, adjust the carbs or anything. It pulls harder and sounds great! So the answer is no! You don't HAVE to do any of those things your mates suggested when changing exhaust systems! :) especially mapping ;p
