Title: Question for posh foccers
Post by: locksmith on 07 July 2012, 10:02:16 am
Can you buy caviar in morrisons or sainsbury's etc?

Having a dinner party tonight and when asked I said we're having champagne and caviar, which thinking about would be a giggle to serve it as they arrive!

What would you serve it on as a canape?

i think m&s do one in some stores. make sure its the proper one. marks do a sevruga which isnt cheap, but dont go for the lumpfish stuff. its not the real thing. as for how to serve it, look up jamieoliveronline.

Had to settle for the lumpfish stuff £2.48 in Morrisons cause that was my one stop :)
Got some dainty little toasted thingies to put it on with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Had to get some champagne flutes as well. Been trying to get rid of the champers we've had in the fridge for ages :lol
Going to be a laugh to see their faces when I wheel it out!

Don't like caviar tried it a couple of years ago at a hotel opening party (no I was working there) it was the good stuff (apparently) Beluga grey it was very expensive and quite hard to get hold of and after trying it thought it was terrible  :crazy have not tried it again. I have tried some of the cheaper stuff (lump fish roe etc) and a no to that as well but should impress just tell them the stuff you have is Beluga and see what they say  :fish

A rather vulgar woman, who I used to know, told me that caviar in fact tastes exactly like semen.

And somehow after that, I've found myself politely declining the stuff when it's been offered.  :\
