Title: High Wind Noise - Would flip up screen help ?
Post by: Enceladus on 20 June 2012, 10:06:28 am
i am getting a lot (and i mean lots) of wind noise at anything above 40mph
at the moment it looks like i have a "double bubble" type screen fitted.
if i were to replace this with a flip up type, would that help ?
thanks :)

Tried ear plugs?

I get a lot of noise at 90+ but that might also be my cheapo helmet letting the side down..

i use ear plugs all the time (thanks for the suggestion though :D)
fairly sure it's not my lid (Nolan N104) as i had the same problem with my old one.
would really like to get it sorted as it gives me a headache after a while.

In my experience taller screens usually generate more wind noise. The MRA Vario can be useful for most people od differing height because it's vane angle is multi-adjustable.

Expensive piece of tho...

I get a bit of wind noise off my standard screen around 70-80 mph, so got a double bubble from Powerbronze thinking it would reduce it.  It made it far worse, I was getting wind noise from 40-50mph.  The standard screen causes the wind to buffet on my chest area but the double bubble screen raised it to my head making it alot noisier.  I put the standard back in and sent the double bubble back.  I wear ear plugs all the time it helps.
