Title: bike / car washing - quick tip :)
Post by: Enceladus on 26 May 2012, 06:54:21 pm
discovered this by accident a few weeks ago, and only remembered to share today whilst washing my "baby" !
to avoid water marks after washing, put some dishwasher rinse aid in the water !
no need to dry off after washing :)
job done :D

I thought a chamois dried it off with no streaks?

it does, using a bit of rinse aid means you don't need to shammy :)

Dont have a dishwasher since the divorce so no rinse-aid either. Do have an excellent chamois leather though! :lol

Have a dishwasher, but no idea what dishwasher rinse aid is.

Pull it out the garage in the spring, service wash polish.

Stick back in garage first salt of the winter, quick wash and spray of WD40.

Occasionally I get bored and wash it in between.

I used to work across the road from a pizza place and the guy only ever washed his van in the rain and let the rain rinse it off, that flippin van used to shine lol.

I used "back to black wet look" tyre shine on the bike the other week dam it felt shocking riding it after my tip don't bother,

Best just use washing up liquid to clean bike

I use furniture polish 'Mr Sheen' (helps with handling compared to pledge) it's a wax that's easy to apply, effortless to shine, repels water and grime, gets rear wheel chain lube off rim suprisingly well and smell great when riding. :lol
