Title: Just checked TPS
Post by: dickturpin on 13 May 2012, 06:30:05 pm
Just checked the TPS and it was reading 7-8K. Now reset to 5k. Would that explain a bit of hesitency at low revs? It also set me thinking before I found that reading that the problem may have been a fuel filter which I have never changed in three years. Do I go for genuine Yam spares for that or are copy filters adequate?

I used a pattern filter on both my R1 and Fazer with no problems.

You say hesitancy.............. is it like a stumble when you open the throttle from standstill, or walking pace?

I just think it hasn't beem pulling quite as well as it did form slow speed. I picked up after about 3k revs. I'll give it a run again soon now (that the TPS is set correct again) and see what happens.

Over 3k mine pulls like a train, and very smoothly. Up to 3k it sometimes coughs and farts alot. Looking to get it Ivanised but I'll have play with the pilot screws in the mean time to see if that helps.
